Michael Irvin

I meant to post about this in the NFL Draft forum, but never got around to it. Bottom line, this guy is a piece of shit and is possibly the worst "analyst" I've ever seen.

When he was questioning Roy Williams's heart by saying he should've left school before his senior year, I was real close to punching my television. Possibly the most idiotic, mind-blowing comment I've ever heard. He has absolutely nothing to contribute to a telecast and you can't understand half of what he's saying due to his mushmouth delivery and constant guffawing. Fuck Michael Irvin.

he fucking sucks. all the guy does is scream stupid shit. sterling sharpe was a million times better. whatever happened to him anyways? i never saw him on anything during the season. i was wondering if he left espn on his own or if they thought he was expendable when they got irvin.

I agree. However I thought he was the only one who had the balls to say Eli Manning doesn't know what he got himself into. Outside of that I can't think of anything he said that was spot on in that draft. I agree bring Sharpe back or hell get Tim Brown when he retires please.

This is going to sound harsh and very politicall incorrect, but fuck it... it's the truth: Sharpe wasn't "ghetto" enough.

The sad truth is that near-illiterate assholes like Irvin, for whatever reason, bring in higher ratings. Perhaps it's the "sideshow" factor. Much the same reason Rush Limbaugh was brought in. Why else would ESPN want HIM as an NFL analyst (aside from his own following)? They knew he would be controversial... or at least viewers would tune in to see if he would be. And we all know how that backfired in their faces.

Michael Irvin's comments about UT's Roy Williams has to be one of the dumbest, most ignorant things I've heard a sports analyst say... EVER. And I say that without an ounce of hyperbole.

But Irvin's "street" enough... so I think he'll keep ratings on level and he'll stick around, unfortunately.

Yep. But do you think he would have said that if Manning wasn't white? I don't.

lmfao you're probably right. No black QB would even think about pulling what Eli did though. Lets face it they are all scared of the Bill Cowher/Slash/Steelers deal. He's a great athlete lets do this and this with him. Still you're right what you're saying i'm just playing devil's advocate.

When he questioned Roy Williams' passion for the game for staying in school, my dad, who follows football only a little said "Who is this crackhead?"

I laughed my fucking ass off. So appropriate.

i think countdown with or without irvin will pull in similar ratings. i can't see many people running to their tv sets to hear that crackhead speak. for one thing you can barely understand what the guy is saying. i for one would love to see timmy brown join some kinda broadcasting. he's my all time favorite player.

overexcited ex-player with little broadcasting experience that wears shiny suits. You guys should know by now that any well know player that wants to be on tv always gets a shot as an analyst.

Deion is much better on CBS.

I agree, Deion is much better. I can at least understand what he's saying.

Irvin sounds like he has shit in his mouth. I Can't stand the idiot.

the difference is that deion has personality. oh and that you can actually understand what he's saying.
