Anyone been to a major league game this year?

Just wondering, as I'm going down to Atlanta for Braves/Expos tomorrow. It'll be my 2nd game of the year the first was Braves/Mets opening day. If you haven't been to Turner Field, its a pretty good place to see a game. And the Braves actually got over .500 tonight, so they might actually be turning the corner a bit. My one drawback of the games in Atlanta (or I guess it is a plus depending on how you look at it), is that the fan support has been lacking the last few years. Granted, they still draw pretty good, but it's not the rabid, loud crowd from the early-mid 90's. But in all I can't wait to get down there and take in a game.

So who else has been or is going to a game this year? Experiences?

Been to a few Mariners games, would go to more if it wasn't a 3hr drive one way. I'd probably own season tickets if we had a team in town. I love hanging out at the ballpark.

I've been to about 3 at Fenway, 1 in Philly, 2 at Yankee Stadium, 1 at Shea, and am going to Baltimore at the end of the year. I am hoping to get to more. Chicago sounds really nice and Toronto is not to far from where I am.

Speaking of Atlanta: it always looked sad when your team got to the Playoffs every year and could not sell out the game. But, I loved the Braves in the playoffs because I always knew that they would blow it. Bobby Cox is good at that (1995 excluded, of course, because that year the Indians blew it).

Jealous. I'm very jealous.

My girlfriend lives in Boston and I went to school in NY. Being a Phillies fan, I always drove down I-95 whenever my brother wanted to see a game. I bought my girlfriend Yankees-Red Sox tickets for a whole weekend the weekend they were in NY. The problem is going to Fenway, you gotta spend at least 100 bucks on tickets alone, which sucks. No movies had interested me through April and May, so I put the money into baseball tickets.

Hell yes. Keep on supporting those boys!

I've been to a few Indianapolis Indians (AAA) games this year; the last when I lost my digital camera.

It will probably be a long time until I return there.

Archangel, you've been to all those stadiums this year? I, too, am jealous. You certainly do get around.

PS, had a good time at the game last night, though the Braves lost 8-4. Got a ticket for $1. Yep, $1. At the box office.

Ticket to a major league game: $1
Soda once inside said game: $4

Yep, I paid 4 times as much for a lemonade at concessions than I did to get in the actual game. Crazy.

I think I will be at Fenway next Thursday at the Padres-Sox game. I am getting those right field roof seats. It'll be nice!

I've been to about 6 Diamondbacks games this year. I really wish they weren't struggling so bad. At the start of the season it looked like they had a great chance to win the NL West.

I'm thinking about getting over to St. Louis on July 2nd to catch the Cardinals/Mariners game.

Well, once you factor in that he's forced to live on the East Coast, it balances out.

FINALLY popped my MLB cherry for the season Friday night - the Brewers rolled over the 'Stros big time, I hung out with some dudes named Cheese and Angry Man, and drank large amounts of beer. It was great. I'm probably going to play hooky from work and hit the day game vs the Mariners on Thursday, and I'd like to swing down to Comiskey for a game (might be visiting Wrigley in about a month as well).

Went to Fenway on 5/23 to see the Sox beat the Blue Jays. Got tickets to Yankee Stadium for a September 18th showdown w/ the Sox that should be crazy. It will be my first trip to Yankee Stadium, and I'll be with 11 other Red Sox fans, so we'll be going nuts.

When the Sox are in Tampa next, I may take a day off of work to go down to see them. Tampa's stadium sucks the life out of you, but hey, it's a baseball game.

i go almost every damn night.
Me, my fiancee and her dad all went in halves for season tickets to the Angels. And actually was supposed to accompany her father to Pittsburgh this week for a reunion, and to see the Angels at PNC, but that fell through last week.

I saw the Red Sox lose to the Twins last week @ Fenway. Great place to see a game, i love the place. SUPER EXPENSIVE - Gas to get to eastern MA, T ride, Tickets, food..... yikes. Totally worth it though. My friends and I want to see a Pats game next season, but they are ALL sold out so it will be even more expensive. I used to go to see them all the time when they were terrible. Figures!

Caught a Dodgers game last month, but am heading to see them face off against the Astros next week probably all four games INCLUDING watching Clemens take 'em on Saturday.

I have to say that I think my city (Toronto) has probably the worst venue for watching baseball. SkyDome has terrible acoustics, no personality and terrible food. Nothing's worse than watching a game in the Concrete Coffin.

It took till now, but I've finally gotten my ass down to Shea. I can't complain though, I haven't been to a better Mets game in as long as I can remebmer. Lead changes every other inning, seeing Franco get Posada out after being down 3-0 with the bases loaded... and who can forget the sound of obnoxious Yankee fans shutting up.

I couldn't have picked a better game to start off with.

That WAS a good game to be at. How is Shea, as a stadium? Character? No?

Shea is a dump... I still can't believe that it's the fifth oldest park in all of major league baseball.

I plan on catching a few games at Shea against the Phillies and the Marlins in the coming weeks, and perhaps a game at Colorado when I visit some relatives, anybody out there have a bead on Coors?

Pittsburgh is the greatest park on earth. Just awesome. I have tix for the Red Sox @ Orioles October 2nd, 2004. It is the second to last game of the season and will probably rock. I am hoping to see some more sox and phils, and there is a chance I may accompany my father on a business trip to Cleveland to see the Jake for my first time in the coming weeks. Baseball has gotten extremely expensive for a game that is played every night.

I went to the thrilling Phils win over the Mets on Thursday, and the not-so-thrilling loss to the Braves on Saturday.

Saw Thursday and Saturday's Dodger games against the Astros. 'Stros dropped them both (they looked like the fucking Tigers on Thursday night, though), but Clemens was fun to watch for a couple of strikeout-filled innings on Saturday. Nice to watch a Biggio homerun Thursday night from the truly badass seats I managed to weasel into.

Missed the game Sunday, which is probably a good thing. I would've just plotzed at the LoDuca grand slam.
