Stir of Echoes SE DVD: R4WK.

Needless to say, when I read this story, I was hyped -- not only because Stir of Echoes is such a awesome ghost story (dare I say one of the best I've seen), but that Lion's Gate is going back and setting things proper with this re-release.

It's times like this that I just dig the way digital home video has really brought the movie makers to the fans, and made things much better for both ends.

Stir of Echoes SE DVD: R4WK

This news is so cool. I am a huge fan of Stir of Echoes, the movie is a beautifully told ghost story with alot of emotion. Kevin Bacon and cast are perfect. It doesn't suffer from detachness either like some ghost stories do, it's very grounded and it brutally hits you in the face with atmosphere. An overall solid film that didn't get the accolades it deserved during its release.

That is good news but it pisses me off when they do a rerelease without adding to the audio. Where's the 6.1?

Quite true, you -- especially with a ghost story, and all the atmosphere and jump potential.

You know what's scary is that right before I even saw this thread I started playing Painted Black from Rolling Stones.....

The song was in the movie right?

In all seriousness I love this movie so it is great to have a commentary. This one surprised me when I finally saw it on my beloved DVD player. I hadn't heard anything at all about it but I am a Kevin Bacon fan so I gave it a rent. I was blown away. It made me totally forget about M. Night Shyamalan's Sixth Sense which I had just seen. I'll gladly double dip this one but next time I want DTS dammit!
