I have vague, vague memories of this movie....

This came out around....81 or so? So I was about 8. I just remember being at my cousin's and sneaking in to watch it while she was, because I wasn't allowed. Heh.

The only thing I remember vividly is a girl trapped in a tunnel and a giant fan coming towards her....

Was this movie actually any good?

I love this movie. It's not high-art, but it's a great little slasher with a really cool "villain". Wasn't this supposed to be re-released on DVD a while back but got shelved indefinately? Shame, I'd love to replace my VHS copy, it's probably got about one viewing left before it snaps.

I liked it too. In my opinion this is Hooper's second best film. It was far from perfect, but I still enjoyed it alot. There were some good scares and more creativity than in most horror films of the era.

Good call. Gunther was a great killer. Creepy looking and sympathetic. It's a movie that makes you feel sorry for the killer while still portraying him as a villain. Great makeup on him too, that gave me nightmares as a kid.

It's been on DVD for like four years now. You should be able to find it for ten bucks. I've had my copy since 2000.
