On Joe Bob Briggs web site he says that he will be part of The Scream Channel. A new channel that starts Jan. 2005. First the Horror Channel and now this! I just hope my area gets both of them.

The Scream channel is new? They had a trailer for it at the beginning of Ginger Snaps in 2001.

There is Scream Television in Canada and there is a scream tv in the USA that was attemted a few years back maybe they are finally getting off the ground

you are from canada so I'm guessing you saw the add for the canadian channel
post #4 of 33
Yes, it was the Canadian channel. I suppose this is an American one, my mistake.

Butane elaborates on the Scream Channel here.

My girlfriend had the Scream Channel [Canada] for a while. Great channel. Gave me my first introduction to Shock Waves and had a couple of cool featurettes for Bride of Chucky around the time that it was released.

I miss that channel...

Huh. Funny. Most Canadians that I've heard from say The Scream Channel (Canada) sucks it.

And don't get too excited about the Scream Channel. I get the feeling it'll be the Sci Fi Channel for horror, i.e. no love for the genre, just the buck.

We want you guys to know, we really did our best when it came to trying to sign Joe Bob.

We tried & tried but unfortunately could not come to any common ground.

We wish him well in his endeavors and hope to work with him some time in the future.

I'm wondering - What is the basis of this critisism ???

That's a pretty heavy thing to say ... Don't get me wrong, as a fan of horror, it would bother me if something was launched without regard to quailty or sincerity, but I'd like a few facts or reasons that back up your pesimissism ...

The more horror the better, I say ...

Whichever channel gives me a Horror Soap Opera to watch in the afternoons or early evenings, wins my money!!!

I miss Joe Bob Brigg's Monstervision. I don't get either of these channels.

No one gets them yet.

Uncle Creepy, maybe you can get Forry Ackerman to host a show. Who else is still around that knew Karloff, Lugosi, Chaney and so many others. I'd love a show that just let him talk about his life in horror and sci-fi.

You do know that I'm available and I come a lot cheaper?

You might be right now. It's been at least three years since I've watched The Scream Channel, but when they were starting out, they weren't bad at all.

We'd love to have Forry! He's an Icon man! Ya never know!

I remember when the Scifi channel rocked. since MST3K went dark I haven't watched it except for lake Placid last week

Hey Uncle Creepy how about reserecting MST3K.
I think that's pretty much Sci-Fi's property.

Actually, I do believe that Sci-Fi's rights to the show have expired, hence the cancellation of the Saturday morning reruns.

I've been watching the scream channel for awhile now. It's pretty good, worth getting for sure. The reason it's not as great as it could be is cause it has commercials and full frame versions of most films. Tons of great movies though.

You get this up-and running, Uncle Creepy, and I'm on board!

Us?

I haven't even been offered the gig and already people are trying to sponge off me.

Say foy, how up do you keep on the whereabouts of Mike Nelson and the rest of the MST3K folks? Just wondering because having a show like MST3K would probably help out the Horror Channel in the early going, or at least I think so.

Hey, you're gonna need an agent...

And thanks for the link to Sattelite News. I'm a huge MST3K fan, mostly when Trace Beaulieu was part of the show. The SciFi eps just weren't up to snuff, IMO. I just think losing Forrester as a character and Trace's wit really affected the writing. Stil better than "Newlyweds," by a 1000 miles.

C'mon guys, those horror fans like me and millions of others have been totally cool through the whole MST3K riegn of bad-joke terror for over a decade. Let this show live on DVD and die on TV. Please. I'm fucking begging you people! It's cool that you like it, but just try and understand that there is a massive amount of poor souls out there who are geeks and friends of geeks who do not think this show is funny in the least. We've suffered a lot. You have DVDs now. Let's just make a deal that it stays off TV and at worst you guys all just decide to change movie night at the last minute, after I've already driven across town, to MST3K night.

That's the kind of sad pathetic plea that's usually followed up by having someone smother you to death with a pillow. Yeah, you've suffered a lot.

MST3K is for people that aren't smart enough to come up with their own bad jokes!!! LOL

Really, MST3K is dead. Let's leave it that way. Besides this is going to be the HORROR channel, not the sci-fi channel.
Just because it was in space doesn't mean they didn't have horror films.

I think the time may be right to do a MST3K-type show but highlighting bad horror movies. God knows there's enough of 'em.
It really is a moot point anyway. I'm under the impression that the Best Brains folks have no interest in resurrecting the show. In fact, I don't even think their studio exists anymore.
Bad Brains is still there. No studio, Just a merchandising outlet for all this MST3K
post #33 of 33
Outstanding! I've been waiting for this day for a loooong time. Now, if only Comcast can stop sucking for three minutes and actually include this channel in my lineup!
