MEG information

I'm not really sure if this is news, but a few days ago the corner announced that Megalodon was going to be released on DVD July 13th, yesterday I recieved a newsletter from Steve Alten, author of MEG and it said don't be surprised if a major studio announces that it has aquired the rights for the book. Also stated in the news letter was that Larry Gordon, producer of AVP, and Guillermo del Toror have stepped on board to produce. I'm hoping now that we'll get a GOOD movie about a megalodon instead of all this direct-to-video crap....although I am sort of looking forward to seeing Megalodon.

I'll believe that as soon as an official announcement is being made. There's been WAY too much bullshit rumor mongering about MEG lately thanks to the fine folks of Scorched Planet so excuse me if I'm a bit sceptical ...

I doubt MEG will be able to top the final half hour of SHARK ATTACK 3: MEGALODON.

But will it have "The Line"?
Dammit......

Why must you always bring up THE LINE?
Because The Line commands us. Do not ignore the line, it has powers far beyond the understanding of any mere mortal. Doubt it at your peril.

Nothing will EVER beat Shark Attack 3. In my opinion it should have been nominated for Best Picture at the Ocsars. And THE LINE should be in every movie, it so great and powerful that it beats Robert Shaws speech in Jaws. Well, not really. I am hoping though that MEG finally makes it to the big screen. I don't think there's been a decent shark flick since Jaws, although I did find Deep Blue Sea to be entertaining.

I'd love to see this get made too. I've got the book and its sequel and have yet to read them (I am notorious about that) I loved Jaws and would totally love to see another cool shark movie come about.

unless we're talking about a prehistoric scaryeyed Meg Foster here, this film is gonna need a cooler sounding title.

This would be a cool movie just as long as they skipped the cheezy final battle against the MEG.

Yeah, I am hoping that the ending is different from the novel, that's pretty much the only thing I didn't like in the book. The next installment of the MEG series should arrive on bookshelves July 1st...and from what I've heard Alten is going to being doing a 4th book in the series sometime down the road...I'd like to see it, but at the same time I think the MEG series should just be Meg, Trench, and Primal Waters. When the movie is made I'd like to see an animatronic shark with CG only for enhancements. Obviously you couldn't build a full size megalodon...unless Stan Winston does it. I think he could pull it off. Stan Winston and ILM...maybe we could see a megalodon on film that looks real for once....and we can't forget THE LINE!!

A shill? I'm not quite sure what that means, but I'm guessing it's not good? Nope, I don't work form them, I'm just a factory worker and a fan of Alten's work.
