Luther The Geek - Info?

IMDB

First saw this on late night Showtime back in the day, and thankfully, taped it. Sadly though, that poor VHS is almost completely dead now, and I'd like to replace it.

Anyone have any idea if there's a DVD (legit or bootleg, R0 / R1) edition floating around anywhere? It originally came out in 1990, and was being distributed by Quest Entertainment... however, it's now out-of-print, and the few available copies go for almost $100.

I've been half-searching for this ever since I first heard about it. I've not had any luck finding a reasonably priced copy either.

Never seen a DVD of ."Luther" ...but the "Dead Alive" VHS of it is pretty nice.

Found it on Ebay.

Well it's certainly not a cinematic great...But it would be very easy to find a more unprofessional, boring and inane film it has to be said.

Thanks for the info, all of ya's. Every time I've checked ebay in the past, there were no results... figures, I post asking about it, and there's two copies sitting there, hah.

JessFranco - Is the Troma DVD confirmed, or just a rumour? I know they own the rights to it (at least, they did a few months back)... but when I contacted the home video department about it, they said there were no plans to release it, and that they were trying to sell the rights.

And I personally thought it was an excellent movie... the ending was a bit of a let-down, but the main gist of the movie was great.

I have to say that you should beware the German 'Red Edition' releases. Almost all are no better than average VHS transfers.

It would be better to go with an NTSC VHS original than this release. They're like the German version of the 'Diamond' label.

The only thing memorable about this film is Stacy Haiduk's nude scene . . . but that's very memorable.
