From IMDB:

Will 'Superman' Fly Off the Shelves?

Superman, who appears to have been struggling with kryptonite since he last appeared on the screen 17 years ago, may finally make his return next year in a film to be produced for Warner Bros. by Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious) and Gilbert Adler (Starsky and Hutch), Daily Variety reported today (Thursday). The trade publication observed that although it was likely that Charlie's Angels director McG (Joseph McGinty Nichol) will direct, he has not yet been signed. (Nor, for that matter, has the film been officially greenlighted.) Variety said that the studio has decided to find a relative unknown to play the Man of Steel and that McG screen tested six actors last week for the role.

It would be really weird if this same story had been on the main page for a couple of hours.

(wait for it)

THERE'S A MAIN PAGE?!?

Maybe Superman flew around the world really fast a bunch of times so this guy could post it on the boards first.

Sorry, my mistake!

Jason Behr? He looks like a Supes but he's sort of wooden.
Is he the kid with the biggest ears?
I hope it never makes it to theatres.

If Behr does this...they need to get Shiri Appleby as Lois Lane.
Yeah, Dumbo ears.

Appleby can't be much of an actress if she was a bit player in a Greenlight movie.

Still, she's a fab piece of ass.
You should see her as the chorus line dancin' whore playtoy of Armin Mueller-Stahl in The Thirteenth Floor.

All kinds of Wicked Awesome...
I saw that shit. She's got, what, two lines?

So I should just abandon hope for Aidan Quinn as the Irish Man of Irish Steel?
Yes. But there two good lines. And she's jiggling.

As for Shaker Heights...in Appleyby's defense maybe she saw Bill Sadler's name, thought it was Roswell, and showed up.

She seemed surprised when they interviewed her during Greenlight...

i'm still pissed that McG is gonna be helming this.
i'm sure that McG's Superman film will be a bullet time extravaganza, supes will probably know kung fu.

Note to Warner Execs: IF Superman uses Kung-fu in the flick i'm going to spew. Superman is SUPERMAN. He doesnt need to know kung-fu.

we'll get a "awesome" soundtrack comprised of top-40 radio pop hits.

i could go on..but i'm getting angry.

It's cool that Peters is off, but I'm not entirely sure Adler and Moritz are much better. And I know McG isn't.

if WB is so receptive to fan reaction and fan criticism, as they seem to want to appear to be, how are they completely missing the total trainwreck atmosphere that's always surrounded this movie?
A lot of shit has changed. Personally, I wouldn't bank on McG yet. The fact that Peters is losing ground, Abrams is out of the re-writes, and McG has twice now confirmed that he's not signed to direct, are good signs. If WB wanted him to sell that he was the director, as they did with Ratner, then he wouldn't be saying otherwise. Someone told him to quit being coy about it in interviews.

Also, with Horn choosing who plays Supes, plus new producers he brought in, confirms a lot of from a few months ago. Supposedly they would like something locked in for San Diego Con to announce. Mark Millar is still claiming some good people are going to be involved with the project, (which, depending on what you think of him, can be taken either way).

It would've been off the ground if AICN didn't leak that script.
