Edge is still a top-tier back, absolutely, but he's not who he was in 1999. With the Colts o-line, I think Dominic Rhodes could start and have another 1K-yard rushing year. We're not like Denver, but all of our backups have had success in James's absence. I love James to death, but the fact of the matter is that he's on the downside of his career. Regardless of all of that, we're not going to be able to keep James AND Marvin Harrison next year. I think the clear decision there is Harrison. Why not trade James now for high draft picks or defensive playmakers instead of losing him for virtually
nothing next year?
Re: Ogunleye...he'd get his sacks. You couldn't double team both him AND Dwight Freeney. I think one of the most glaring holes on the Indy D (besides right up the gut) is the complete lack of pressure from the side of the ball opposite Freeney. Raheem Brock? Please. The guy jumps over somebody, the crowd oohs-and-ahs, but he doesn't produce. I think there's a reason why the Eagles waived him a couple years ago. Brad Scioli? Highly doubtful. He hardly even played last season, and has never shown much burst off of the ball. The Colts desperately need a bookend to Dwight the Fright and I think we're in a unique position now to make it happen. Ogunleye is an IU guy...James is a Cane. It's too perfect.
