I personnally loved that system. Anyone else?
I had one for a while, but all I ever played on it was Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, and the Sega 2K sports titles.
I still have mine. I have at least 50 games for it. Right noiw, Toy Commander is on my play list.

The games and system were a little bit ahead of their time. Still adding to my collection.

Had it, loved it, but mostly played the 2D fighters on it. That and Grandia 2 and Skies of Arcadia.

I like Crazy Taxi,Power Stone, and almost all the baseball games. They were all quality games for the most part.
I wish for a mod or new version of Power Stone for the Xbox. I could play that one with friends for HOURS.
I love mine. Samba de Amigo is better than anything else on there.

Dreamcast was great:

Crazy Taxi
NFL2k
NBA2k
Soul Caliber
Shenmue
Powerstone 1/2
Sonic
Jet Grind Radio
Code Veronica
Virtua Tennis

tons of great stuff.

I basically bought my Dreamcast for Street Fighter III - Third Strike, being that it only cost me $50 brand new, I figured that made it a solid investment all by itself. After getting Soul Calibur, Power Stone 2, MLB/NFL 2K2, Ikaruga, Jet Grind Radio and quite a few other quality titles it probably got me more bang for my buck than any other console I had ever purchased.

think the game I loved most of it was Berserk. Just running around with a huge sword and watching blood all over the screen gave me odd feelings of joy
post #11 of 29
This system had great games

Rayman2
Shenmue I & II
Shadowman
Grandia II
Skies Of Arcadia
Mr. Driller - that game is like crack
Berserk

It was kinda lacking in racing though - there was one decent Test Drive title ..... but that's about it.

Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense
F355. The hardest racing "sim" out there. It was dumbed down for the Ps2 port.
I've still got my DC and I still play it sometimes. High quality games library with a minimum of crap titles. Best value console I've ever bought. Shame Sega fucked it up so badly :/

They released it at the wrong time. They shouldve released it 2 years before ps2 at least. Ps2 overshadowed it.

Susuki Alstare was a decent motorcycle racer. Still play it occasionally.

And don't forget GTA2. You know, the sequel to the original overhead game. Good stuff still to this day....

I loved loved loved my Dreamcast. Sega singlehandly changed the sports game genre with the Dreamcast. It still has the best controller of all the consoles on the market. Many many games that came out on the Dreamcast looked better than their PS2 counterparts.

Sucks it failed, it was a better system than the PS2.

God I love my Dreamcast. Toy commander is still one of the best multiplayer games ever created in my opinion. As was Soul Caliber probably the best fighting game at the time. Everything about that system was great, especially now where you can buy the games for 10 dollars a piece at any used game store.
Yep I loved the system and think its a damn shame that Sega is out of the console market. Understandable though.

I loves my DC, especially for:

Skies of Arcadia
Grandia 2
Evolution
Fire Pro Wrestling D
NJPW: Giant Gram 2000
Gauntlet Legends
Wetrix
House of the Dead

and of course, my copy of NESter DC

I've seen many for 5 dollars. That's how my collection is growing these days, anyway.

As long as they stay in the game making market, I'm happy.

when ever I go to my friends house.. he pulls out the dreamcast and we have brawl sessions in KOF, SF series, Capcom/Marvel games.

2-D fighters all the way.
I play all the old NES and SNES games on it... I love the system for that... very hackable.

I still need to get myself one of those disks.

They're pretty easy to make if you've got the Roms and a cd burner...

You actually don't even need one of those discs to play a majority of the games available.

If anyone hasn't gotten it yet, Propeller Arena finally came out for the Dreamcast. Great game for that system, but Crimson Skies for XBox trumps it.

How so?
I might have mis-spoke. I was under the assumption you were speaking of a boot disk like Utopia, where you were probably talking about the rom disc. In that case, I will second Boomstick's love for DCEmulation.

My bad. I haven't been gettin' any quality time....

SKIES OF ARCADIA was one of the best RPGs ever, bar none. Great story and great gameplay.
