I took an online survey about this "upcoming game" for Xbox 2! Neat.

hahaha it has a price for a game on a console that doesnt exist. if you believe that thing (that looks like someone whipped up on word in ten minutes) then i may have to clue you in on some things... namely the easter bunny and santa not being real.

I'd really like for there to be a big open-ended "Freelancer"-type game set in the Star Wars universe though. That would be corking.

The fact that it says it's for the Xbox 2 is a clear indication that it's fake.

Whew. For a minute there, I thought my proposed first person shooter Ploovo-Two-For-One: Shoot Him, You Fools, He's Getting Away! was in danger of getting ripped off.

There's no sign of it at the website you mentioned. Was it an ad, or a news story?

Mostly it's the utter lack of any sort of trademark or copyright information, or indeed any mention of Lucasarts whatsoever, that really suggests this is bogus.

Trust me, the Lucas family of companies wouldn't forget to put that stuff on there.

The questionairre seems legit - it's on the Nielsen website, and I doubt a hoaxer would bother coming up with all those dumbass questions.

It just seems extremely odd that a game that nobody has heard of would be revealed like this. No press. No mention of it on the Lucasarts site.

And, like I say, there's no way Lucasfilm would be happy to see their Star Wars logo, and Star Wars character material, out there with no (r) or TM or (c) notices.

Very, very strange.

Carl, I think I read somewhere that there is going to be an X-Box/PS2 game on the OT DVD. Full game or demo? Or just another SW hoax?

True, but it's actually just a demo of the Xbox version of "Star Wars: Battlefront" which is released on the same day as the DVD set (9/21).

This is what happens when the VP of Marketing at Lucasfilm (Jim Ward) also takes over as President of LucasArts.

I took the survey earlier today and got questions on a Star Wars flying game called Dark Squadron. (Sorry I didn't save the screenshot.) The titles strike me as fanboy-esque. I'd say these are either speculative game descriptions designed to gauge which features gamers would respond to most, or flat-out fakes. Either way I don't think these games are on anyone's drawing board.
