Just to throw this out, as you know AFI just recently released their best 100 songs from film (a list I had many problems with) but what about movie SCORES? Sometimes a good piece of Music can enhance a movie or even exceed what is being portrayed VISUALLY. So what are your favorite movie scores?

My top ten in no order


1. American beauty

2. The magnificent seven

3. Shawshank redemption

4. Psycho

5. Pleasantville

6. Edward Scissorhands

7. The good, the bad and the ugly

8. LOTR-Fellowship of the ring

9. E.T.

10. Fight Club

Honorable mentions: Bubba Ho tep, Deep impact and Escape from NY

Best film score bar none is THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, in my opinion.

1. Vertigo
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Spirited Away
4. Lawrence of Arabia
5. Star Trek: The Motion Picture
6. Akira
7. The Time Machine (2002)
8. Spartacus
9. The Falcon and the Snowman (There's my obscure pick...)
10. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
