So I got this. I haven't really started it yet (ok, an aborted attempt that went five minutes).

Anything I should know before I go full steam ahead? The system is so different (and archaic) that I'm having trouble adjusting.

I got this somewhat recently, havent had time to really get that far into it.

Its harder than I remembered. I forgot a LOT of what to do.

Greeeeat.

I figure like I kind of HAVE to try my hand at it, because I missed out in the beginning (dad refused to purchase a CD ROM until he was sure they wouldn't go the "way of the dog")

It's definitely not an easy game, but I think it holds up as an immersive experience. Don't feel bad if you can't get into it though, I don't think it's necessarily a must-play. Despite its massive popularity, its particular brand of point-and-click adventuring ended up occupying a surprisingly small niche in gaming.

I know, but I think despite the fact that adventure gaming isn't HUGE, I think that the "CD ROM" thing occupys a singluar place in gaming history.
