As I said before I eagerly await for the first news stories about kids shoryukening their friends and geeks trying to do commando shit and get their scotums torn once this goes on retail. It will make all the Wii remote nonsense look like amateur hour.
Holy shit, I never thought it'd be that bad. On the other hand, I might pay to see a few tubs have heart attacks doing whatever Fable 3 has in store with Natal.

I also love how Mom, Dad, and Thane are all flailing around in front of the TV, but the screen only shows two avatars. Poor Thane is just wasting energy.

What is weird is how this was announced on the DS a year before the PS3. It makes me think that they just retooled what was already done for a PS3 version.
Apparently they share a story, but are two entirely different experiences. There's a trailer for the DS version that showcases stylus minigames.
There's some murmuring they might bring the minigames over and implement the Playstation Move on them.

On the other hand, there's still zero confirmation theyre bringing this thing to the States. Considering how much Level 5 drags their ass bringing the Professor Layton games stateside, that worries me.
I had no clue about the DS version before now. This is awesome. Will we get an engaging videogame story?? *GASP etc*

Level 5 localized the terrible White Knight Chronicles, so I'm betting the US release of this one is a given.

Can someone sell me on Zeno Clash? Why is it worth my money?

It's like being a football hooligan in Morrowind.

That Ghibli game trailer has convinced me to replace my broken PS3 (the thing has refused to read most discs for about two years now).

Hey, how 'bout a thread for games?

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit trailer
Looks like a lot of fun, although I was kind of laughing at the autolog stuff. It's like someone Jerry Bruckheimered the notifications from Burnout:Paradise.
I think I'm going to pick it up, as long as the demo isn't God-awful. My friends and I probably played Hot Pursuit on the original PlayStation for about 1000 hours back in the day (not much else to do when you're 11).

When you click on the ID tag of a fellow racer, the screen zooms into a 3D blueprint of a secret base for no reason.
I've spent about 90 hours or so driving around in Burnout Paradise, so I was definitely looking forward to Criterion's next racing game, whatever it turned out to be. I'm glad the trailers for Hot Pursuit look like fun.

Yes, complete with this craziness.

Yeah, I put that in the article. Who knew JFK could be so fucking annoying.

Dibs on Robert McNamara with his top-secret carpet bombing power-up!
Ha ha. I like how they have to be really exaggerated or else you won't know who they are.

JFK can't stop speechifying. And Nixon is a spastic motherfucker.

FWIW, the (awesome) Twinkle Twinkle wasn't original either. Alien Resurrection used the song (sung by creepy kids) back in 1997.
There's nothing new about putting nursery rhymes in a disturbing context. It's specifically a retread for the Dead Space marketing.

More dark fantasy from Atlus.

The Nestor Almendros line was pure gold. Well done.

How much free time does Bioware think I have? Next year I'll play Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 2 (I have a ps3), plus I may dip my toes back into MMO waters with The Old Republic. Sheesh. Damn their high quality!
I know.

There's an article somewhere in the ether about Bioware introducing a "far reaching" addition to the ME universe. I wonder if this is it.

Honestly, I hope it's just a boring old Mass Effect 3 announcement.

I was, but I still see potential. I really did like the sound and art design, even if everything was ultra Nostromo-ized.
I bumped into copies of Two Worlds II as I was wandering around European shops last week. Reviews have been generally positive, but things are really silent on the homefront about this game. I would have bought it on a lark if it weren't priced at one hundred goddamn dollars. Has anybody here bought this game?

Silent Hill 8 titled and themed.

Awful title. And didn't I read Akira Yamaoka's off this series?

And yet, I'll still play the shit out of this.

2011 wish list.

Also, since I didn't do a best of 2010 list, I'll just say that Heavy Rain sucks.

Zombies in games, much like in films, shouldn't go away. Somehow people keep doing cool things with them, so I think the WWII shooter comparison is a bit unfair. Even the Red Dead expansion worked really well when it shouldn't have, somehow.

Is there a single announced Wii game other than Zelda coming out this year that's worth a damn? The snarky answer of course, is no, but surely there's something. I really dig that little machine, damn shame it's library is 90% garbage.

Cool write-up. *crosses fingers for Episode 3*

2011: Fuck Your Wallet!

Intrigued by Journey and From Dust. This must've been what it was like when people started getting their hands on cameras and realized that it wasn't just Hollywood that could make movies.

At this point, they're just a lazy fallback. The market is so oversaturated with them that they've lost the power to unnerve, which makes them little more than cardboard target dummies. Undead Nightmare was a lot of fun, but in some ways it succeeded despite the zombie shit, not because of it.

Trevor La Pay, Do you not have any interest in...Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, Mortal Kombat or the new SD G Gundam game arriving on Wii?  I have played Marvel Vs Capcom 3, and definitely will have that at the top of my best of 2011 list.

I have a morbidly detached interest in the MK reboot, because if you can bisect somebody at the balls with a razor hat, I guarantee you'll be hearing about this game on the news. And it's not that I don't like Marvel vs. Capcom, it's just that I'm terrible at it.

Trevor, Hey, I never posted that I was...Good, at games.  But there will probably be an...Easy mode for people less skilled.  That would be different from, Simple Mode, in which all of the complex moves are mapped to a few buttons.  To me, Marvel Vs Capcom 3 looks...Awesome!  Also, 2 sets of my favorite fighting game characters.  My desire for gaming is always stronger than my ability.  Have you seen anything on the newest Tecmo/Koei beat em up, Dynasty Warriors 3?  This time the game is, cell shaded, so that it looks like the anime it is adapted from.  There are Gundams from over 15 different series.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Trailer

After the mediocre and generic experience that was the last AVP game, Gearbox needs to knoc this one out of the park; the in game teaser trailer they released months ago was nice but felt like a series of in game moments, so I need to see some gameplay here.

Still, a squad based 4 player colonial marine game should be great, dammit!

I never finished Black Ops, and ive hardly given any other military FPS a try since then, but this one is looking interesting; must be the Rambo III like horse combat sequences.
