Why isn't anyone talking about this? It looks absoloutly awesome.

GTA + Resident Evil = Pure Class

Looks pretty good. Some nice car on undead action. I didnt really read any previews of it from E3 coverage, maybe its still early in development. I have a feeling that the on foot stuff will be the problem with the game, which seems to be the case in a lot of the post-GTA games nowadays.

I think that was the problem with the GTA games actually (well that and lack of coherant story).
I always felt GTA was great concept, sloppy exectuion (well when it hit the 3d format).
But I think that they should have a story mode AND free roaming and try not to mix
the two because it always messes up the narrative.

I always thought GTA before GTA3 was the textbook definition of a "great concept shitty execution" game with its crappy controls and perspective, and you are the first person I've heard that thinks that the move to 3D was worse.

From the look of Dead Rush, though, I don't think it's gonna be free-roaming, or at least as free-roaming like GTA regarding multiple missions arcs. The concept does sound great, but it's the follow-through that's gonna matter. Not only will on-foot control be a problem, but so would the general pacing and layout of the game. The game could be ruined if the on-foot sneaking aspects aren't well-made or exciting, but those parts are too many or laid out such that it takes away from the better parts of the game.

Creature Corner had an E3 write-up on it that got me pretty amped for it. But then, I'm a zombie freak.

Dave the mighty refers to this, and I have to admit to some ampage, as well.

Funny.

I remember that there was also a post on the CC board after DotD '04 came out about how cool it would be if someone could take the GTA engine and add zombies into it.

I expect a check from Activision any day now...

To be fair though, I have heard that idea from lots of people for a while now. It had
to happen eventually.

And Otik I must admit I thought the graphics were slightly rough, untill I saw the video.
It really looks quite amazing in motion, download the trailer if you can. And it's not even out
for another year. Trust me, download the trailer. If, unlike me, you weren't sold on the concept
alone, the trailer will do it for you.

I know. I just thought it was funny that it has been mentioned. And it looks like a nutty game. Especially when you have to keep cars functional by fixing them up with little more than spit and intestines. I just hope the driving isn't the main focus over the gunplay.

No more Dead Rush

Would have been cool...

This officially sucks. First Warhammer Online, then this.
