Can't find the old thread so blaaah.

Anyhoo I downloaded the Scumm emulator http://www.scummvm.org/
And have been playing Beneath a Steel Sky (FUN) like crazy.

Anyhoo, I'm hankerin to play some old games like Sam and Max, The Dig, and the Monkey Islands.
But I just cannot find the fuckers.

Craaap, the hard drive I had ScummVM Sam And Max on and Day of the Tentacle just died last week.. they worked perfectly. I found them over a year ago so I seriously doubt the abandonware sites I found them on are still up, but I will look around again, I have pretty good luck with finding such things.

I borrowed the Sam and Max disc from a friend that had it, but the sound doesn't work on my computer. He said something about the computers nowadays just are not compatible with the older LucasArts games. Shame, as I dig the furry duo.

Full Throttle and the Monkey Island series are some of my fave games ever.

Since Lucasarts never fully "abandons" their old games, chances are slim that you'd be able to find them on any abandonware site. Several years ago they packaged older titles like Loom, the first few Monkey Islands, etc together, so you might be able to find them if you look hard enough. I'm pretty sure they still sell them on their website, but I'm sure you'd have to pay a decent sum if you go that route.

Man, they sure did make some great games back in the '90s. I still maintain to this day that Grim Fandango is one of the greatest games ever produced. Too bad it never really caught on with the general public.
