If they agree to it, sure.

a cameo is 1 or 2 scenes I think, but go nuts.

In that case, I'm going to borrow Kiefer Sutherland for a pre-credits zinger for my Lost Boys sequel. I'm not sure who drafted him, but if you don't want to, please PM me and I will remove it.

Those are the four choices I was iffy about, myself. Weyland is only tentative for right now. I have someone else in mind, but I have to finish drafting. I kept flopping who was Cinderella and who was Beauty back and forth, but settled on Gwyneth as Cinderella just because I like her more and Cinderella gets more screen time if there's future sequels. As for Bluebeard, I kind of got stumped on that casting and just decided to go with a a good character actor even if he didn't fit the part perfectly. Who would you have cast as Bluebeard? I really couldn't figure that one out.

As for that Preacher movie, I'm doubting it'll ever get made. There's been several attempts and they've all stalled. I saw some early makeup work for Arseface from a previous attempt which looked pretty cool. I'm willing to believe that Anderson can get it made right, but not anyone else.

possible takeover?

would it be possible for me to take over one of the studios that has been abandoned? If so, just let me know what I need to do.

Feel free. the 2 studios are listed above in this thread. Pick whichever 1 you want. You will have whatever draft picks remain to catch up on and we just finished Round 3 of the Properties draft.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Well, if you'll allow me to make a small suggestion, I'd suggest casting Brendan Gleeson as Weyland Smith and Statham as the voice of Dun. Weyland always seemed to be part giant, and you want someone who can convey friendliness with force/power, sort of like Hagrid. Remember, the first time we see him in Animal Farm he's taking up a large part of a cave. So you could concievebly use camera tricks, but you're going to want to have someone with bulk, and unless you're going with a fat suit, I think Statham has muscle but not girth. As for Dun, I always saw him as being sort of a devilish schemer who could convey great power through his words a la Hitler...and I think that Statham can make that shift with his voice/tone, whereas Gleeson's voice is more of a Churchill type.

As for Bluebeard, I see him as being a quintessentialy British type, sort of a younger Alan Rickman...if I were casting, I'd go for someone like Christian Bale or even Jude Law. Prince Charming is "English," but he's got so many variations you could concevibly switch Schreiber with Law or even cast someone like George Clooney in that role. I actually would suggest switching the casting of Law and Schreiber, because I think Schreiber fits the physical resemblance better--just look at him in the trailers for Manchurian Candidate.

ANyway, those are just my two cents.

Good suggestions for the most part. I was thinking along the same route as you are for Weyland Smith. Hagrid was more what I thought of too. Like I said though, I have someone in mind. I just need to draft them. If not, your switch of Gleeson and Statham would work beautifully. I just wasn't thinking the right way on it.
Don't think I agree on the switching of Schrieber and Law, though. My first two choices for Charming were Bale and Clive Owen, who both fit the role physically better. I thought of Clooney briefly too. After I lost out on them, I thought I'd go more for the suave manipulater angle and take Law. A dye job and I think he works fine. He certainly looks nothing like Bluebeard does in the comic book. That was what was the hardest part for Bluebeard. I could think of no one who fit the role both physically and as an actor. I figured Schrieber at least isn't small and he's a good actor. Plus, I figured in that Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson would be writing it and as studio head, I'd be giving them creative freedom to put their own spin on some things. I think they could keep the feel while making Schrieber fit. Bale was the perfect Charming to me, but I've grown to love the idea of Law playing him. I have to let that stand.

Also, if you still want to trade the actors we talked about, go ahead and announce it. Just tell me if winter is okay for me to use your guy. If not, I'll take someone else.

One of my favorite movies ever. Do right by it. I'm dying to see your cast.

Hey, I'm going to borrow Keira Knightly for a cameo in one of my films, with an option to do cameos in the film's two sequels for later seasons, of course. If the person who has her has a problem with this, let me know. Thanks.

Both Kiera Knightly and Kiefer Sutherland are unusable as they are owned by Studios without owners at this time.

Sorry for the Inconvenience, please try again later

Look, that's a dumb rule. Let us use the actors in cameos if we want, because it doesn't look like anyone is going to take those studios anyhow. Or do a poll to see if they should be released back into the general population.

It kinda goes with the point of the whole idea of "drafting" your studio. That way they are your properties, but I don't want to be a dictator or nothing.

A poll has decided everything thus far, a poll shall rule this one too. and I agree with you, but there are some names I would love to "borrow" too.

Also, Vin Diesel as Shadow in American Gods? Boo. Too young.

Good call on Albert Finney as Wendsday, though.

I know he's not exactly ideal, but I don't see Shadow as being that old anyway. Early thirties maybe. Anyway I wanted to do this film so I had to find someone. That said I have another actor I'm considering but thats only if I can get a hold of him as I think he's been taken by one of the studios without an owner.
Viggo Mortensen is undrafted, and is the perfect Shadow.
Erm, I have Viggo in my studio.
It's alright, it wasn't Viggo I was thinking of anyway. Any idea if we'll be able to get our hands on the actors in the inactive studios? I'm starting to think it's getting a little late for people to be joining in. Not that I'm against it, but it doesn't quite seem fair for them.

Actually, now that I've looked through the chosen list the actor I was thinking of wasn't there. Off to draft him I go!

It's Nic Cage by the way so I need to pack him off to the gym to get buffed up for the part.

Beautiful fucking pick with Planetary. I'd maybe see a Planetary movie even over my own comic book movies. Even if I do despise Thandie Newton.
Good to see someone picking up X-Com. I had considered it myself, but then I realised that most of my actors are rather too old for that sort of thing

Just wondering when our seasons are starting. Is season 1 spring? It's just so I can get my Star Wars film set up for release in the Summer.
I was under the impression we had already started releasing films. I have three "released" already in the Projects thread.
Well I've not quite got to that stage. Still juggling things about. We do only get 4 seasons though. Don't we?
I think the issue of releasing films and seasons need to be explained in a little more detail.
I second that.

Well the idea of "Seasons" was a suggestion. It is the method that I am trying to use. Basicallly all I am doing is planning my entire year, mapping it out in seasons and that is about it.

There really isn't anything to "explain" because I don't know which is the best way to do it, or have any ideas for it. I have read people are interested in doing a awards thread at the end of this, which is fine with me.

From this point on, I am really open to suggestions, as originally this was just a draft to spark creativity and see who people would draft for their studio and the projects that would come out of it.

The idea of putting limits on it was just a suggestion, but I do not have an idea how to structure it.

L7 Productions announces a trade with Sacrilicious Supersucker. To Sacrilicious Supersucker - Spike Lee. To L7 Productions - Scarlett Johansson.

That's good, as I was afraid I had jumped the gun by announcing my three projects in their entirety in the Projects Thread. I'll keep on keeping on, I guess.
That's fine with me. The way I'm doing it, I've got four seasons to get whatever projects I want made so I've had to do a bit of juggling to get it all to work.

Now, I've got to work on updating my projects list.

I'm surprised that no one else has drafted a FX house yet. There's Sony Imageworks (Spider-Man 1 and 2, Stuart Little), Digital Domain (The Terminator 1 and 2), and WETA (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Frightners) left to pick from.
I did Rhythm & Hues...a small one, but if they can make Garfield look almost lifelike, they've done a good job.

So what now?

I was thinking maybe we could have four seperate threads for the season in which out projects would be released. Lets just imagine that we are releasing them during one year. Lets just keep it out of our minds that we are halfway through this year. So we could have a thread where we would post and discuss our projects that would be released in the spring, summer, fall, and winter of that year.

Anyone following this?

That sounds good to me too. After all of this, we should have some sort of a presentation to it.

Sure, if we want to make it official, although I've already posted a few of my releases already. It would be nice to have all of our releases up in a separate thread.

Good stuff, it's how I've been trying to organise my projects. I agree that we should have a separate thread to present the projects in for each season. The projects thread is getting a bit long and confusing to show everyone's wares off.

We could maintain our projects lists in the "Projects" thread, but I figured we could go into more detail with each season. Mainly to see what other projects would be released in the same time period.

If anyone has any other ideas to expand on what I said, bring them on. We really need to keep this interesting.
