I like 'em. Although they don't give much info about the film (other than that it seems to involve dismemberment), they certainly are attention-grabbers. I may have to Photoshop them together and use them as my desktop image.

With every bit of info I see for this movie, it moves further up on my list of movies to see.

Nick mentions on CHUD that these may be the US poster as well. I rather doubt that. The MPAA would never approve something this horrific for a movie poster that can be seen by every little kid that goes to see a Di$ney flick. Maybe they should start having R rated movie posters as well. They could then have a special room in every multiplex where they put those and you are only allowed to enter after showing your ID. Yeah, I can totally see that happen.

I'd take that over all those annoying floating heads any time.

But seriously, it just fucking blows that the MPAA is now not only messing with our movie and trailers but also with movie posters and, most recently, the official websites for movies. What's next? Will they design their own cute little MPAA flag and go invade Poland? Fucking fascists. I just miss the good old days when you could still show screaming women and blood on movie posters. It's gotten so far that it's almost impossible to accurately represent some movies with their posters. The Di$neyfication of society goes on and on ...

Not to be the dick I think I am about to be...

BUT...

I happened upon a viewing of this movie over the holiday weekend and let me just say that it was the first movie in a LOOOOOONG time to leave a group of very fickle and seasoned movie "conniseurs" speechless as the credits rolled...

just like every other person before me has commented on it...To say anymore than it was a total brilliant mindfuck of a movie- would be giving too much away...There will be comparisons to other movies as usual-but they really should be overlooked and recognise this movie for what it is- and that is AWESOME!!!!!

I just hope that it gets released asap so EVERYONE can see this movie...

It jumped immediatly into my top 5 movies I have seen this year and possibly into my top 20 horror movies of all time...

Very well done...all I can say is VERY VERY well done...

If this gets an 18 cert in the UK, it means the FDA have to approve the advertising. And they're notoriously puritanical wankers.

Which is a crying shame.

I caught that red band trailer over on iFilm and I'm not watching a frame more until it comes out. Intrigued and psyched ? Fuck yes.

Ouch!

Nice posters, but I don't think they'd put them up in movie theatres in Canada, probably a little too graphic and morbid for our censors at least for the NCR.
Personally, I don't really care if they show up in theaters or not, hell they could use some floating images of Danny Glover for all I care, as long as I can find a copy of this damn thing to hang in my house at some point. Fuckin' great.
I can understand that!

You're a lucky man Butane to have the Girl Creature, I don't think my girlfriend would dig severed members on our wall, it’s just a guess.

With posters like that on my wall I’d probably banned from the Family when relatives come over, they're already freaked by the fact that I have more than 100 horror DVD's & swords and knives everywhere.

oh well what can you do eh!

What? What? What?????????

Saw absolutely sucked! It was a misfire from the beginning. The acting was laughably bad and the entire theater was laughing at it within the first twenty minutes. The best that could be said was that it had a few moments of inspiration but they immediately fall flat. Glover is laughably bad. Mugging at the camera like Ed Wood is directing him. I should say that this showing was with the cast and crew. People were laughing at the film in front of the CAST AND CREW. I really like lots of bad and marginal cinema but unfortunatly this had nothing to raise it above dreck. It is so bad that I am suspicious of the praise that I am now finding. Someone is gettin paid.

Nooooo...someone liked the movie. Lots of someones. Sorry the audience you saw it with didn't for whatever reason, but everyone else I know that's seen it has dug it heartily.

Well I was immediately hooked on seeing this film simply for that awesome trailer I saw on the net the other day. Movies like this keep me from listening to any kind of review on it. Movies like this make me stay virginal till I finally see it. Then I like to go back and read the reviews to find out how jaded and cynical most reviewers are.

God I want to see that movie, and that poster is fucking sweet.
Official site? Unofficial site? I dunno.

Still, very, very cool feel to it, just like the posters.

Dig the trailer. Dig the hand poster. Dig the Glover.

Must see.

SAW is a must see. To say it ABSOLUTELY sucked isn't fair and rather a broad stroke. Sure, it's not a perfect film and some of the acting isn't great, but it has tons of other things going for it. It's a modern day giallo with nods to Deep Red, Black Christmas and Se7en. What's not to like about that? It's a refeshing change against all these horror films that are shot like a fuckin' Gatoraide commercial. I'd recommend SAW to any horror fan looking for some new blood.

I'm torn. Personally I don't like torture films. It's not gore, it's the prolonged suffering I don't like. But there's something here that I like.

Hassan...

Paid?!?!?!?...um...No.

If you look back on most of my posts... I HATE EVERYTHING!!!!!! I am the first one to offer my opinions and condolences to someone having to sit through the pieces of shit that seemed to be loved around these parts...(Jeepers Creepers and Dead End-I am looking at you.) But I do respect others opinions and their tastes do differ from mine (except for Hart- And that still worries me...)

Only recently have I actually discovered movies that I have been lucky enough not to burp up a little vomit in my mouth during the screening from their suckyness..(yes- I used a 4th grade word like "suckyness") (ie:Haute Tension, Last Horror Movie, and the guilty pleasure of Ginger Snaps 2:Electric Boogaloo)

I , Like Johnny, am sad that you saw this film with such a bad crowd. I am very very very surprised that people were laughing at it... Nervous laughter maybe? Who knows...

Now I can admit that everytime Glover came on the screen all I could think of was "Go SPIT!!!!" and "I'm too old for this shit!" But it was easilly overlooked as the other actors performances, the pacing, the photography, the gore, and all the rest of it- TOTALLY MADE UP for the FEW short comings that this movie had...

It raised the bar for how low down and dirty a movie can make you feel in the same vein of Seven, Thesis, and I'll actually throw in the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre...

I know that my endorsment or Hassans persecution of this film will not sway anyone from seeing this movie as we are all horror fans and we KNOW that we need to see it for ourselves and make up our own minds...

But Like I said in my last post- there will be comparisons- but they are heavilly shadowed by the overall greatness of this movie...

I am actually

intrigued. I saw this film at Sundance at a midnight showing. The midnight crowds are usually the most enthusiastic genre fans.( I know, I know, Sundance, the blechh "indie crowd" and all that)
I saw Haute Tension and thought that it was the best thing I caught at the fest. Some of you seem to have really disliked Haute. I really don't like the idea that the crowd had any influence on my opinions of these films. Haute had a large number of squeemish walkouts early on when the crimson started to flow.
I liked the enthusiasm that the Australian kids had for their film Saw but I hated the film itself.
The posters here have nothing really to do with the film IMO. Other than the creepy doll and the clever mouth trap, which was the feature of the short that these guys made in order to create this feature, it fell so flat as to barely register. Hell, even Cassian Elwes who sat next to me was uncomfortable with this film that his own brother starred in. Maybe I just missed the point. I think I would of loved it if I saw it as some sort of homage to Giallo,Argento etc. but it just didn't cut it.

Me too. I NEED both these posters framed and on my wall. If you find out anywhere that is selling them then please let me know. I haven't even seen the film but LOVE the trailers and i'm 90% sure i'll love the film. Really looking forward to it but need those posters - best movie posters in ages!
