I am going to be doing a sit down interview with Donnie Darko writer/director Richard Kelly next week and want to see if you guys have any questions you would like me to ask. I just went to a press screening of Donnie Darko the Directors Cut last night and it rocked! E-mail your questions to me at horrorshirts@cox.net
Later! -Clark

Do all questions have to be DD related or can we also ask about some of his zillion other projets?

As for DD, I'd like to know if the guy in the rabbit suit in the hospital at the end of CABIN FEVER was a hommage to DD by his pal Eli Roth.

Oh I have a question... or rather a comment.... MAKE ANOTHER MOVIE! well I know he is right now but.... MAKE IT FASTER! Geez Donnie Darko has come and gone. Let a good thing come and go. This uncut re-release BS is so tiresome.

It's not an uncut rerelease -- it more akin to The Abyss or T2 director's cuts. Put it this way, I'm chucking away the original DVD as soon as the DC hits street.

I'm a fucking shill and Butane will have my balls, but if anyone UK based wants to be in a doc on the Directors Cut DVD go to empireonline.com or xfm.com. You have to do it quick (and this is the reason it's not really news worthy, by the time news got around the dealine would be past) -- by 19th July to be exact.

And just to be proactive, Clark, two questions:

a) Is Southland Tales is a complete departure from genre freiednly material or will it be a more Lynchian/Mullholland Drive-esque L.A. piece

b) the marketing guy that told him to have the floating heads on the Urban Legend-style original Donnie artwork -- has the last laugh been had ?

I already junked mine. The DC DVD comes out in 3 months in the UK. It always bugged me that those deleted scenes were not in the movie so the DC is - at least IMO - very necessary and much appreciated.

Clark, just to keep the thread alive, you might want to just let 'em post the questions here...just a thought.

And Strax, I will expect your balls FedEx'd to me post-haste.

It's just easier to cut and paste them all from my e-mail and then pick and choose. As for tossin' the old DVD I wouldn't until you know for sure that everything on the old DVD will be on the new one. My guess is you will need both. Not all of the deleted scenes from the first dvd are in this cut. Plus if you want the old commentary as well as the commentary over the deleted scenes then my guess is you will need the old disc. I'm keeping mine fo-sho! -Clark

Yup, it's the exact same disc plus an all new disc which hopefully Richard Kelly (and A.N. Other, if you're lucky) will be doing a commentary for.

Wait and see.
