Sounds cool. Don't think I've seen it.

I remember this well ... Haven't seen since the mid-80s, when my friend from school Ralph and I would do nothing but watch horror and play the Atari 5200 ....

Enjoyable cheese ... I mean, Emilo Estevez transported into a video game ... that rules

If you like 80's horror. Then you might like it. It's not like it's genius or anything. It's shlock, but its fun shlock if you can get any kind of nostalgic feeling out of it.

If this is what I think it is, it's definitely a great anthology. It's a shame they never air it on TV anymore. When I was a kid, it was always on.

I guess my favorite is the rat story.

I picked up the full-frame DVD a couple of years ago. When I was a kid, the Estevez "Bishop of Battle" sequence was my favorite. These days, I prefer the final tale, which features Lance Henriksen as a fallen priest who tests his faith by facing off against the devil, who appears in the form of a sleek, black truck

Good stuff! Incidentally, this was originally produced as a tv movie, but Universal deemed it too strong from the small screen at the time and instead shipped it out to theaters.

I have this on tape and have been meaning to watch it. I remember seeing it a long time ago when I was a kid. I have disturbing memories of the videogame monster.

I loved Bishop. I think that was my fav. I remember that the rat story was scary as hell, I don't remember why but that really stuck with me.

I loved this movie. Used to see it on A&E all the time in the early nineties. Lance Henrickson battling a demonic truck, Emilio Estevez in a video game and Richard Masur VS a giant gerbil! Absolute gold.

Were they any spin offs? or any sequels?
No spin offs, no sequels. It didn't do enough business to warrant any. The director, Joseph Sargent, went on to helm the abysmal JAWS: THE REVENGE, as well as a veritable plethora of made-for-tv flicks and minseries. But hey, if you dig anthology horror, check out TRILOGY OF TERROR or DEAD OF NIGHT, two exceptionally well-crafted anthology films. They'll knock your socks off.

I think I'll check those out. I've got Creepshow and I love that so I'll see what else is out there.

"The Bishop of Battle" . . .ah, memories.

If nothing else, this movie is good just for the short story with Emilio.

This tale is gold! Easily my favorite of the three. The scene where the truck comes flying out of the dirt is still very cool.

Yeah that part where the truck flys out of the dirt is awesome. I loved Bishop. I just finished watching the dvd now, it's so great.

I loved the terrible effects in Night of the Rat. These were the WORST optical composit effects I've ever witnessed. You have to see this to believe it.

I saw this one on television a few years ago for the first time and it wasn't half bad. I was expecting a very bad movie and got a surprisingly atmospheric one. I can't remember if the film was on the Sci-Fi Channel or on Encore, but it was on TV. For those who haven't seen it, I recommend you see it. It's nothing great, but you can do a lot worse.
