A place to get foreign DVD's!?

Hey all,

I stumbled on this place......

http://us.yesasia.com/en/Index.aspx

Has anyone ever ordered anything from here? They seem to be the foreign version of amazon and the prices are really good.

Yesasia are good, but their shipping isn't always fast and their prices aren't great. DDDHouse.com is much better. Also, PokerIndustries.com is also good, and usually very fast, although not half as cheap as DDD.

I've been thinking about getting a DVD player that plays both PAL and NTSC, and I have a regular US TV, which can use an S-cable. I want one that'll play all regions. I was checking out the DVD players at that YesAsia.com and they have some that say "All Code" (that's the same as regions, right?). Anyhow, do you think the GIEC GK-6000 (Sky Blue) DVD Player (All Code) at YesAsia would do the trick? Or any suggestions on onw that would? Any help would be appreciated.

thats the one I have, and I payed only 69.99 canadian mwaa haa haa

but yeah it works well, the pal playback is a little off but still good overall better than my old apex which streached the pal widescreen image to a full screen image

I'm building a Media Computer and going to setup the DVD to be all region PAL/NTSC. There's free software out there to spoof the crap on the Player into playing anything. I'd do this if you had the time and patients to set it up.

I'm still using a modified APEX 1100W. It's a decent lil machine with a few quirks. But, I bought it new for $79.00 a couple years ago and modified it myself. Built in NTSC/PAL convertor, Macrovision free and plays VCDs (no, I do not have a DVD burner yet). A little stretching on PAL DVDs but I can live with that for now.

Although the Jaton PSD-7611K is an attractive replacement.

thats the apex I used to have, if you want better than vcd quality you can use SVCD's which can look very very good, I have a few things on vcd and they are damn fine only a step or 2 down from dvd

I'd be a little wary of that player if I were you. I've had some experience with that model and it can be a bit tempermental. Though, for the price it's still a nice little machine.
