Exactly. I'd much rather play a short game that engrosses me completely for several days (or even hours) than trudge through a larger game through some weird sense of obligation, distracted but never really entertained. With the advances now possible in delivering genuine plot and characterisation in games, artificially elongated gameplay just feels increasingly weird.
