Call of Duty Multiplayer hates my ATI Radeon 9800

... and it's the 256MB variety, too.

Ever since I downloaded the latest patches for the game... BLAM! I load the MP version, find a game in progress, join the game, the map loads, and then as soon as the in-game menu loads... CRASH. I get ATI Catalyst errors afterward as well. And I've even tried different Ethernet cards, as I've heard that some don't work well with ATI chipsets.

Any suggestions?? Would it be worth it to try and delete the Catalyst utility??

And, yes... I have downloaded all the latest drivers for the card as well as the game patches.

Help! I am having Kraut-killing withdrawal!

System Info:

Windows XP Professional
ATI Radeon 9800 (256 MB)
Athlon 2700+ 2.04GHZ Processor
1.5 GB RAM

Wish I could help, but I've been an Nvidiot for several years now (getting my first ATI card this week, it better not suck!). Have you checked the CoD message boards and such? Any repeatable glitch should be pretty well documented...

Try disabling VPU Recover in the advanced Display Properties?
