Freddy's Nightmares on DVD?

Is there any word on this show coming out on DVD? I was a huge Freddy freak back in the day and I loved this show. I had every episode taped but it got erased somehow (gotta love VHS). And since pretty much every show on TV seems to be getting some kind of DVD release, I was hoping this would too.

They were released on DVD in region 2 last year. I’m still waiting for Friday the 13th The Series to come out on DVD. I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon, though. Mmm,Micki...

You can get the Region 2 "first volume" from Xploited Cinemas here:

It's Region 2 PAL

As an aside, I have a release of this I got from a Fango WoH, and it has one more story on it.

The region two release is marginal at best. Quality isn't very good beyond the Tobe Hooper directed pilot if memory serves.

Still...glad I own it for the time being. But the Warner VHS releases from the nineties are better...

I agree, I'd love to get Friday the 13th: the series on dvd.

I heard this show sucked compared to the other anothology shows Tilight, Tales FTC, etc.. Maybe it's good?

Still don't understand the reasoning behind releasing ONLY a R2 disk... I don't understand that? Especially if it's an american show.

I'd love to see them again, if only to catch the episode that marked one of Brad Pitt's very first appearances, as well as to ogle Lar Park Lincoln, of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 7 fame.

Yeah, compared to some of the classics, this show was crap and to be honest I only remember the episodes where Freddy was an actual part of the story but I would still love to have this on DVD.

I don't get the R2 DVD thing either. They seem to get a lot of out shows before we do. Futurama comes to mind.

I got a couple of the old VHS tapes of this show from Warner Bros. but I too would love to see a DVD set of this series.

It would be cool to see a box set for Halloween this year, but it probably won't happen. I loved watching this show when it was on TV. It was cheesy, but anything with Freddy in it is cool to me. Except Freddy VS Jason. That was just pure crap.

But since there is a huge boom with TV shows being released on DVD, I'd bet that before the end of 2005, we will see this on DVD.

Shows like Friday the 13th The Series, War of the Worlds, Werewolf, and Freddy's Nightmares were what started me down the horror path when I was in junior high. F13 and WOW I really liked. They were violent and gripping, with story arcs that kept me coming back each week. Staying up late on weekends to watch this twisted stuff was great.

I watched Freddy's Nightmares, but didn't enjoy it like the others. I hadn't seen any of the movies at that point, so I wasn't a fan. Most of the plots weaved in and out of reality so much that they became frustrating. What's real, what's a dream? After awhile, I didn't care. Pretty bloody, though.

I'm STILL waiting patiently for the War of the Worlds TV series to be releases.

waiting...

...and waiting...
