Oh, no team would trust him at all but I know many would give him a chance (if he's in NFL shape). It would be a team that had depth in running back though, not one that needed to rely on him as their primary back.

Like the column on NFL or ESPN (I forgot which one). Maybe the Dolphins will do something different instead of Ricky up the middle, Ricky to the Left..

Weed habits don't get that expensive. I'd think it's a lot less than any wealthy alchoholic would spend on their fix.

Whomever mentioned the non-guaranteed contracts made the best point in here. Ricky doesn't owe the Dolphins anything, and if he would have lost a step, they would have cut him without warning.

he's certainly in nfl shape. as of a few week's ago he was 2lbs lighter then his playing weight last season. ricky has also cut short his trip to asia and is currently in his own word's "bouncing around with lenny kravitz".

they definitely have time i think, what is it? august 8th or something? put him on the FA list, make him ridiculously expensive, and ship it out. sounds like a good plan.

Well, Ricky fucked the Dolphins, but it looks like they are driving it right back to him:

Quote:
Ricky Williams could be forced to give back the Miami Dolphins more than $8 million already paid to him because he retired before the expiration of his contract.

Because of penalty clauses included when Williams' contract was reworked two years ago, the team could try to recoup $5.3 million in incentive money, said sources familiar with the terms who requested anonymity. The Dolphins also could seek $3.3 million of the $8.8 million signing bonus Williams received when he joined the New Orleans Saints in 1999, the sources said.
That might make it a little easier for the Dolphins to handle this now - at least open up some extra cash to bring in somone else.

Sporting News.com/FoxSports.com is reporting that Miami is trying to arrange a trade with Green Bay for Najeh "Poopy" Davenport.

ricky has just announced that a week ago he failed another drug test which was his third overall. you're third time failing mean's a 4 game suspension. he was blowing some weed up with lenny.

"I didn't quit football because I failed a drug test. I failed a drug test because I was ready to quit football."

What a fucking joke.

He also said he had been using a masking agent the last three years to hide the fact he was stoned all the fucking time.

They say you have to be an idiot or not care to pass a drug test. NBA players pass it all the time and they light up alot.

Technically, now that he's retired, if he decided to come back we'd be talking about a fourth failure (something to do with coming back from retirement) which would lead to an indefinite suspension.

What's your point? Marijuana obviously didn't keep Ricky Williams from playing great football the last few years. It didn't keep Rasheed Wallace from winning an NBA chamionship (and do you remember Rasheed claiming 75% of the NBA smokes pot?). You obviously don't know anything about marijuana (you really think marijuana habits get that expensive?), so please try to stay informed.

My point is

- Marijuana is against NFL rules and against the law.

I don't care if someone smokes pot - I think it should be legalized. This is not about playing well while stoned, it's about making a choice to throw everything away for pot. Let him smoke pot instead of playing football, it's his choice.

But that quote I put up there in the post you responded to is a fucking joke.

You made it up, or you think it's a joke? I don't see anything wrong with that quote.

Real fucking mature. I guess it does teach his kids something. If you don't want to do something, break the rules and then laugh in their faces when they can't punish you.

Maybe his kids will go to work someday, steal money from their boss, and then when they are about to be fired say "I stole your money because I was ready to quit! HA!!!"

That's why that quote is a fucking joke. It's about as immature as you can get. Hope he don't end up in jail for possession one day soon, now that every cop in the country knows he does it.
He could have retired without failing a drug test. I think what he means by the quote is that he didn't care enough about football to avoid or cover up the weed.
Exactly. Maturity has nothing to do with it. Besides, the NFL is something other than the bastion of mature behavior. He didn't care whether he got caught anymore, that's it. I've known plenty of people who've done similar things. It could be seen as self-desructive behavior, but if doing so is going to make you happier, it's actually the complete opposite.

"I was ready to quit football"

Now, it looks like he just wants to fuck over the Dolphins. And he may be more than ready to return to the Raiders?????

Ricky Williams is a piece of crap.
