Yeah, I saw that. I'm such a huge fucking celebrity. You guys are really lucky I'm still talking to you.
Wow, Slater's famous.
Make sure to remember all the little people who saw you on the way up, Slater.

Hey, since I couldn't find the Halo 2 thread, just wanted to mention that GameSpot has a new article about the multiplayer campaign. New pics too. Here's a couple of them:

Chief holding the new Slug Thrower (sweetness)

Must play this multiplayer level NOW.

Dual-Wielding Goodness

MC shooting with the new Covenant Carbine Rifle

Damn, those pics are nice.

Ya the MS print embargo on the beta multiplayer test over xbox live was lifted yesterday and there are tons of reports at all the major gaming sites about the intricacies of Halo 2's mutliplayer.

Bungie seems to have sutdied what went wrong with all the major xbox live titles, and addressed the issues directly. Just another reason why this game is giong to revolutionize online console gameplay.

I think halo 2 is going to be the Counter-strike for console internet gaming, a stalwart of a game that will be played for years past its own technologies lifespan.

Anyway, the party system sounded very awesome and I immediately thought of you chud guys and how we could have a chud party and a few of us could stick together for hours on end doing some team slayer or ctf and owning us some bitches.

Being in Vancouver, Canada, far away from any axon or whatever this game sounds dumb.

Having said that, someone start a Halo 2 Discussion thread so we can ramble on about the game and not this bees crap.

Oh crap, I really need to find something to eat now.

sorry shakes, What I meant was the game is only in the states, and i'm in Canada and thus didn't play and waste my time.

Edit: If you have to answer a phone and more than say, 5 guys show up, do you guys fight over who answers it?
Nah, the one axon I went to, no one wanted to pick up the phone, save for myself. Geekish fear of failure, methinks.

Too bad about the game. My own enthusiasm has waned considerably seeing the game trip over itself. I still stand by the concept of the game as a psuedo-marketing/narrative expansion thingy. Considering all the info about the beta that's leaking out now, it seems they weren't in a demo releasing position to begin with.
It's about time we get some info about the single player game.
Sorry, the only thing I want to here about the single-player mode is that it kicks all kinds of ass. Don't want to know the story before playing the game.
I'm talking gameplay (length, difficulty, terrain, planets), I'd be lying if I said I had any more than a passing interest in the story.
Oh, that's cool. I wouldn't mind knowing the length myself. If it's at least twice as long as the first one, I'll be happy. Anything more is a blessing from Bungie.

From what I've heard, it will be a couple of places to check out (Earth, the Covenant homeworld, an ancient Forerunner facility).

And of course, the patented plot twists.
Bungie's been stingy with their single player snatch. I want to shove my fingers in that single player mode, then stuff my fingers up my nostrils and SNNNIIIIFFFF!
The funny thing is (though god knows I took one look at the "I love bees" thing and ran for the hills based on the time-such that was the AI ARG) that a lot of times (and i cannot count how many) that I was told I would have a demo for use in *large* promotional fun-stuff only to learn...oh, say, a week prior that it was delayed or canned, and thus....I didn't get to do it. Now I'm not an apolgisit for those Bungie (god knows) but I do know that behind the scenes, if they had some sort of physical game oriented reward, it could have gone waaaay off.

Hahaaa! I love how, after people have spent days and days trying to link these things perfectly together on their own, they're now providing them to us. Awesome.
I've kinda kept up with all this Halo talk but I was just wondering something. How many of you are looking forward to the multiplayer online aspect over the single player? For the first game, I kinda liked playing the Single-player missions with a friend over multiplayer. Of course it was fun to hook up the 4 tvs and 4 x-box's and have an all day Halo fest. Even though Bungie is doing everything it can do to take care of cheaters and the like, I'll still be hesistant to play just because I know there'll be a bunch fo slack jawed faggots (name the reference!) out there playing.
I don't have Live (...or friends who play non-sports games) so I'm all about the single player experience.

Back to ILB for a second- this update is the best one yet. I can't decide what I like more- that Unfiction is now spamming other boards for help with the phones, that this update looks like a big "FUCK YOU" from the game masters to the players, or that the players are still lapping it up.

Yeah, this is such a huge "fuck you" to the Unfiction guys. "Hey, this week we're not gonna give you any new puzzles or informations, but we will render all your hard work pointless! Ha ha!"

Considering that the original Halo is the only game she's ever truly LOVED, when I finally get Halo 2, my wife and I will play coop for a couple of weeks, until we finish the game. I'm sure I'll play a little Live whenever she can't play, but the focus will definitely be on the single player campaign. I don't know how long this new one will be, but we used to complete 1-2 levels a night.
It always takes me about 2 sittings to finish the Assault On The Control Room level. It's just so damn long. Hunters on the bridges don't help, either. If they have at least 4 levels in Halo 2 as long as that, I'll be pleased.
Because I hate myself, I've continued to follow this thing. It makes even less sense now. I would have thought they'd try to make some kind of solid connection between the five stories by now but there's still nothing. I'm still holding out hope something cool is going to happen once that damn counter hits 777, also because I hate myself.
29 axons to go as of 7:45pm, Monday evening. If something is going to happen, it will be soon. Probably another penis punch, however.
new batch of embedded puzzles, too.

2 have been solved thus far, leading to two new wavs. I like watching the Unfiction crowd tear through this stuff.
What is #11 in the movie scene picture? It's driving me crazy.
So the counter hit 777. On one hand, the new .wavs are actually informative. On the other, it looks like the new stuff will only affect a few random people and that the stupid fucking phone calls will continue indefinitely.
You need to give it up man, I'm starting to fear for your sanity.
I am now an officer on the UNSC ship Apocolypso. That's Commodore Gemini to you chaps.
I can't wait to hear your rendition of "Stairway to Heaven".
LOL - that's cool. Just went to the ilovebees site. So, how did you get your name up there. Haven't been keeping up with the game.
This is still going on?
At this rate, Jacob, you'll be dust and my grandchildren will be telling me how the game ends. Sooooo slooooow.

God, I hope that doesn't end up online.

As posted on Unfiction:

My call at 9:57 in Lafayette LA was live. She asked me her favorite song, I told her, she asked me to sing it. I didn't know it, I told her I was sorry. Then she asked me my favorite song, to which I replied "Stairway to Heaven." Her response: "Hmmm. That's impossible." She asked me to sing it, but I was so nervous I couldn't remember the words quite right. So I start humming. She asks me if there are words to this song, so I start half-mumbling half-singing something resembling the chorus to Stairway to Heaven. I really hope that this doesn't end up on the Internet, because I must sound like a gigantic moron.

Then she went on, asking me if it reminded me of a memory. I said no. This was probably a mistake, I probably could've made something up and made more progress with her. Then she asked me my name, I told her Gemini. She asked me my rank, I told her Commodore. Then she asked me what ship I was on, I said the Apocolypso. She said I must be new, and made me spell out my name. Then she said something about having to stop Durga from preventing the consummation of the truth, or something like that. I don't think those are her exact words. Then she took my phone number, told me she'd be contacting me, and told me this connection wasn't secure and hung up.

She didn't ask me if she could record the call, so I hope this means my retarded singing will remain between myself and Melissa. She didn't break down any, so I couldn't say Sleeping Princess. I did try that on a recorded call earlier, and nothing happened.
interesting...now you can talk to a live person.
That's sounds cool as hell, man. If I answered, I would have picked something from Phil Collins like "Land of Confusion" or "Easy Lover" just to make them laugh their asses off.
Anyone still keeping track of this thing? I'm not answering any payphones, but goddamn the story's starting to take some mean twists toward the final Halo 2 tie-in. I'm more than a little curious to see how it all pans out for each character.

http://www.ilovebees.com/humptydumpty.html , for those of you who haven't been listening lately.
That the phone thing is still going on is completely ridiculous but the story is pretty neat. Now that Coral is glassed, the Covenant are closer than ever. Three and a half weeks to go...
I love the story. Been answering phones each week to move it along. The fact that there's at least the illusion of us influencing what is happening each week is really cool.

But, yeah, think the pay phone thing is dumb? At least listen to this quasi-radio drama. Most updated files here:

Looks like www.halo2.com is getting primed to be included in the game in some manner. Man, just hearing the opening title on that website is making me all excited. So close...

The Pillar of Autumn got namechecked today. The stupidity of the phone calls continues but the story is decent. All of the individual threads are finally being woven together today. Next week will (most likely) be the assault on Chawla Base, where the Covenant Artifact is being held. And the week after that...the Covenant invades Earth.
Slater, if the generally accepted theory is right you'll finally get your chance to play HALO 2 early next week...if you travel to Chicago, NYC, Austin, or San Francisco.

WOW! A whole week early!
Stupid inbred bastards. They and the damned bees can kiss my ass. Atlanta gets pissed on yet again.
SO is this laid out based on the demographic locations of the ppl still playing the game?

Either way, this came about 2 months too late for me. Fuck I love bees.
Looks like you can still get the swag even if you can't make it to the "training exercise" on the 4th. I wonder if the DVD is Ilovebees-specific or if it's just the DVD from the HALO 2 LE.
