Heading to London in September

Need a bit of help. I'm heading to "Covent Gardens, London" in September. I'm a bit confused about which airport I should be flying in to. Which airport is closest to Covent Gardens, does it really matter which one I fly into.

Also, I would love to get together with some board members for a drink or "5" while I'm there. I will be visiting my brother and he is still very busy putting the finishing touches on Seed of Chucky, and I would imagine I will have some free time..

Heathrow is probably best - you can catch the tube from there to anywhere in London, although a taxi would be expensive. Depends how much luggage you'll be lugging, and how wealthy you are!

Another CHUD UK gathering is planned in London for September, to go and see Hellboy on the big screen, so it depends what dates you'd be here. I doubt you'll be short of company for boozy free time.

heathrow is on the piccadilly line (that's underground/tube/subway/whatever) which is coloured dark blue on the maps. covent garden is on the same line. bingo! you won't even need to change. take about 30-40 minutes.
Gatwick is probably the other choice. the gatwick express will get you into the centre of london pretty quick too, so it's no big thing either way. bring lots of money!
shame you can't get here at the end of august coz there's a horror film festival at the prince charles cinema, Leicester Square (also on the Piccadilly Line!) over the last weekend. Also my band is playing underneath a strip club in Euston (sadly not on the Piccadilly Line) on teh 10th. You'll to dress up smart for it though. I know what you geeks are like.

Thanks for the info. Turns out I fly in Gatwick. I will take your advice and get on the Gatwick Express. I get into London on September 17. I think me and Don will be taking the Chunnel to France on Saturday for lunch. After that, I'll be looking for lots to do. I heard about Fright Fest and I'm sorry I'm going to miss it. One of the PR folks from Fright Fest emailed me to ask about Don coming, and he just may be bringing a few Seed clips to the Fest!!

If you can think of anything happening around the time I'm there, please let me know. Maybe your band (TG) will be playing. I know how to dress smart, and I can't wait to get to London..

Dan, let me know when the boozy times begin... I'll be there!

I used to live in Covent Garden. Good choice, it's the best place IMO.

You guys should organize a trip to the London dungeon!

Tiff, you got any idea which day your brother will be at frightfest? I just wanna make sure I don't miss him!

Tiff, PM when you know you know your plans, I'll let you have my mobile number. I live about 20 mins from Convent Garden. Always around for booze. Just give me a a shout.

Which doesn't really paint me in a good light, huh...

Ah, this is why i love london: all the invisible bits. you won't notice them, even if you pass them everyday, unless you are looking for them. London=cool
and smelly
and busy
and too expensive
and doesn't react well to heat

Not sure about that yet. Don has to spot the score with Pino in Venice and then go to Bolgeria for the actual recording. This could mean he doesn't make it to Fright Fest... I'll give him a buzz today and try to let you know. I'll be London From the 16th to the 23rd. I'll be going to Paris on the 18th, but will be back in time for FUN!!! AG, do you think you will be around during my visit?

Strax, I'll pm you with my info. Don's flat is in Covent Gardens so we should have no problem catching up.

I'm so excited.

Tiff, no problem.

Donnagio. Man, I'd love to ask him about that....

BTW I notice your sig. Might be able to bring you something as well.

(hmm, that just edges out of the realms of creepy sounding...)

A, I didn't mention that before ? I do wear my utter agnosticism well as a result.

Tiff, I don't think I'll be around at that time. I have to go back to London for a week end of August - early september, so I'm not sure I'll be able to make another trip later in the month.
But you never know; I know I'll have to go somewhere at some point during that month, but I don't know where and when yet. Very confusing... Could very well be London.

Strax, I don't think you'd mentioned it before - not to me anyway. For some obscure reason I find it slightly amusing..

Strax, I'm sure you well get a chance to ask Don about Pino. The score sounds great so far. I told Don I was planning on meeting you some where, some how!! !

Donnie Darko stuff????? how cool. I've talked to Richard Kelly's brother several times. He lives a few miles from me. Don't really know him, but we have chatted. Don actually brought Donnie Darko to the attention of the folks at the "Saturn Awards" that is how I found out about that film.
