Disturbing Behaviour

hey everyone... i hated the 90's Teen Horror surge as much as anyone else... so dont kill me.. But i REALLY enjoyed Disturbing Behavior when it came out. i saw it several times at the theater and have it on DVD, i just re-watched it as it had been a year or 2 since i last watched it and i still think it is a really good. movie.... sure it has plot holes galore... and it unfortunately came out during that whole surge and got buried along with everyone else.. but i have a real liking for the movie. i love the dialogue...except for 1 horrible line at the beginning ("Self mutilate this, fluid boy") .. i mean, thats just atrocious...but i also love the characters...of course that includes the yummy Katie HOlmes who never looked so good. James Marsden is a cool guy, as is the character of Gavin played by Nick Stahl who im a fan of... so any other Disturbing Behavior fans? or what did you hate about it?

i love this movie. i think it has the right feel, whatever that means. something about it makes it feel like an 80s horror flick to me, you know, with little town, guys with letter jackets.... i just like it quite a lot, even if it was butchered before release. every single one of the deleted scenes on the dvd should not have been cut. they give more insight into what really happened to his brother, the reason why his parents sign him up for the program, etc. i just find the movie very effective. i like these x-files style teen horrors. Disturbing Behavior and Final Destination are very much in a league of their own compared to all the other crap teen horror movies that appeared mid to late 90s. I think butterfly effect might be considered in that league also, only thing is that its directing is so amatuer.

This thread made me go and chuck on the dvd and watch it again. i love this movie. Then while watching it i also had a huge urge to go watch Scream. So i will be doing that now.

Yeah, I dig this one. Flawed, but entertaining. The goody-goody girl slamming her head into a mirror mumbling about misbehaving was aces.

James Marsden isn't a good leading man, though. He has no personality; he's a model.

Good ending, though.

Paranoia, paranoia, everybodies coming to get meeee... I've had that song stuck in my head ever since the first preview for this film; and yes it's good despite its flaws (the film not the song).

I feel the same for The Faculty . Don't really care what people say about that film.

Yeah, and I just remembered he wrote the script for the supposedly unreleasable CURSED as well. In other words his career is way down the crapper.

I liked this and "The Faculty," but the fact of the matter is, you can place the blame of the weak teen horror genre on "I Know What You Did Last Summer." At least "Scream" had an original premise, but "Summer" did nothing but spin it's wheels and capitalize on it's hot teens and gore to try to get it to work. There's no heart to it, and it shows on repeat viewings. At least "The Faculty," "Scream," and even "Disturbing Behavior" had interesting concepts to them.

Plus, if you like "Disturbing Behavior," you'd love the version that should have made it onto screens before the studio got "Dimension-itis".

We watched I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER in school after that year's prom.

I slept through it.

miramax ruined teaching mrs. tingle after the whole columbine school shootings shit. from what i remember reading some scenes were cut and reshot. they totally robbed him of what could have been a cool little black comedy.

i remember when Teaching Ms. Tingle was being shot and i read on a few websites, an FX list from the set and it seemed pretty gory and cool, the stuff they were asking for.....but i saw NONE of it in the finished "product"... so i smell studio tinkering.

Doesn't William Sadler say in this, "Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone!" ?
