Rumoured 'Halloween 9' Cast

Monday 26th May 2003: Halloween 9 Update:
More RUMOURS received today on Halloween 9 "they have selected a final cast for the next untitled Halloween film. The cast includes: Sally Field, Brian Cox, Shawn Crawford, Maggie Smith, Katherine Issabelle, and Lindsy Booth. My realitive said that they just finished writing the scripts. Filming will start soon in Canada [ did not give me a place ] they are aiming for a January release for this film." Again I stress this is a RUMOUR until it gets a confirmation.

Katharine Isabelle! Wicked! Except..thats sort of weird since she was in FvJ..

I'd say this transcends "rumor" and enters "bullshit" territory. Sally Field, Brian Cox and Maggie Smith? Riiiiiighhht.

If this turns out be true it's more of a damn shame. She dissed the shit out of FvsJ for being a piece of crap film and now she's interested in a friggin HALLOWEEN sequel for Dimension? I can't see that happen unless she has undergone lobotomy recently.

Wow, this will be my second "ditto" Wetbones post in as many minutes. But yeah, exactly, wasn't she kinda just dissing horror movies in general around that time? And more or less implying she didn't like even being in them?

And ain't no way Brian Cox is gonna be in Halloween 9 (in any case, he's way to busy constantly whispering...and sometimes yelling...in my ear for me to go around and brutaly murder these weird gang members.)
The only way I'd buy Sally Field in a Halloween movie is if she played the unmasked Michael Myers.

At least it's nice that actors are being more honest now.
Damn I hate smelling bullshit so early in the morning. If they're going to make shit up, can't they be at least a little realistic?

No, I'm sure three actors of their calibre would happily sign up for a cheap slasher sequel without even seeing a script.

And where the hell is this set now, Scotland? Dame Maggie Smith indeed.

If that's the pitch, I guarantee Ted Danson's on board.
I'll call bullshit on this as well, but when Ben Kingsley accepts a job from Uwe Boll...
only thing that scares me is Brian Cox will do ANY movie so this could be true...

However I belive it's not, cause they would have trickled out casting info but suddenly BAM full Casting info???

You know, it really surprised me when Katherine Issabelle said FvsJ was shit. Normally even the friggin catering guys have to sign a non-disclosure contract that forbids them to talk about the film in any way, be it positive or negative, yet here this girl boldly states in an official printed interview that the film she's currently acting in will be crap. Either she has some huge hairy balls or New Line's legal department fucked up.

Richard Dreyfus was convinced that "Jaws" was going to be terrible, and he related this in interviews while it was still filming.
That being said, from an actor's perspective "Freddy vs. Jason" is a shitter of a movie, and I've no problem w/ Issabelle stating so.
Of course, why she doesn't branch out into more serious roles is beyond me. You'd figure that she wouldn't dedicate her time to the Ginger Snaps films (I haven't seen any of them) if she didn't like horror films, but I suppose she has to pay the bills like everyone else.

There's a strong aroma in the air, I know you guys smell it, it's BULLSHIT!!!!
The Last thing I heard about this is that the script was finish and they're going back to their "roots"
I heard comparisons that this is just like Halloween 4, where the townspeople help with the hunt. But who knows, I know that Akkad wanted a character like Loomis, which would explain why they want Brian Cox, I like him as an actor. But for now I am very suspicious of that article.

Unfortunately, it matter very little if they get Maggie Smith or dig up the corpse of Donald Pleasance (although that would probably generate tickets sales). There is nothing that can be done to get this beloved (at least to me) franchise back on track.

Might as well cast Armand Assante as the unmasked Meyers and Victoria Principal as Laurie Strode's step-mother's sister and then maybe we'll all wakeup and realize that the last 4 films were all just a bad dream.

It wasn't just Ricky though, that was a lot of people, because it had so many problems. The same was the deal with STAR WARS. Both had production problems that made a lot of the cast and crew think it would be utter shite.

Or...have Jamie Lloyd's baby (now in his 20 ) continues the family business and starts killing..muahahahahah!!

It could very well be that the Weinstein Pigs are just tossing this rumor out to see how the fans react to the actors they have on their wishlist. On the other hand it seems highly doubtful that Harvey Fuckface would acknowledge the existance of fans.
Who in the Hells is Heather Bowen? She's the only one listed on the cast list for 'Halloween 9' on IMDB.

I highly recommend reading the message board for 'Halloween 9'. Some guy, after posting a 'rumour', says that he thought Moustapha Akkad was a fictional character.

If only that were true...
Let me shed a little light on this. It is total and utter bullshit. And yes I do know this for sure. Heather Bowen was the girl who won a walk on role on H-9 at the H25 Convention last year so yes she will be in H-9 most likely in the background somewhere when ever they actually get around to really doing anything on it. -Clark

Personally I would have been happy if the Halloween films came to an end after H20. I liked the ending, and you need the return of the main character (Jamie Lee) in order to put a nail in the coffin of any series. her cameo in Resurrection was stale, and for such a milf, she looked like shit run over twice in that mental ward. But since they didn't, I'm not so pissed. I guess there can always be made more room for more Michael Myers in my book (with the obvious gloss over of the 3rd installment, but I don't want to cause an argument) and since they want to get back to the "roots" I can see some potential. Lets bring back some of the John Carpenter influence.

Here is my wish list:

1. I want to go back to seeing some of the action taking place thru Michael's mask, I thought looking through those little eye holes was kinda creepy as a kid, and hearing that heavy breathing, I felt as if I was in a mask, suffocating.
2. I want a grainy, dark movie. Nothing too bright, I want see the mask emerge from the darkness, and the first thing you see is that stark white face in mid air right behind the next victim.
3. Bring back the orginal theme music, and orginal musical cues. They were good, and they are as much ingrained in my psyche as everything else that I love about this film. I don't like the orchestrated theme music that Muffasa started, and all the key modulations, variations on a theme bullshit. Use the oringal... bad MIDI and all.

Halloween is my favorite horror movie of ALL time, and I want to see them get back to the "roots." I think that would be a good thing. I'd also like to take a moment right now and say that this is my FIRST post on this message board. I started reading it months ago, and my registration finally got through. How fitting that this is my first post :::getting emotional::: you guys don't know how HARD it is... to find other people who LOVE HORROR. Especially since I have a bizzare taste for the REALLY BAD horror with LOTS of cheese. I was ostricized by all my peers, and friends, and I was in the closet w/my passion for distasteful, gorefilled, bad acting, poor editing, low budget horror flicks. GOD BLESS you guys!!! I HAVE COME HOME AT LAST!!!!!

Way to ruin my day!

As for this dream cast, while it isn't happening, still, wouldn't it be a pretty good cast? What if Carpenter was signed to direct also?

Oh, and the Shawn Crawford, I believe, was actually Shawn Ashmore.
William Shatner should play Myers in powderface and not wear a mask. Maybe have a scene where he titty twists a nun for good measure!

i think she's just pissed she isnt in that many non genre films. which given her acting ability isnt that much of a surprise.

Hmmm I haven't been here in a loooong time. All I can say is that they better not fuck this movie up or I'll be highly pissed. Hehe they should put me in the movie. Muwhahahahahahaha.

I think they should remake SEASON OF THE WITCH, the best of the sequels by far.

I think Halloween 4 is the best sequel, but I do love Season of the witch.

Maybe they should go back to the original concept, a horror film that takes place on Halloween night...

But I doubt the audience would let them.

i think she's quite a good actress. you probably have only seen her "genre" films. she's quite the indie queen up here in Canada. she's far more well known for doing great indie flicks (Turning Paige, Falling Angels, On The Corner, etc.) rather than sub par genre films.

Theres more of a chance of it being horrible then good. The only Halloween I've mildly enjoyed since Part IV was H2O, despite it feeling really short and rushed.

It makes sense to jump on the bandwagon and go back to the series "roots." I doubt Carpenter will direct it, unless his career has gone so far down the shitter that he has to direct part 9 of the series he started. I would much rather have Carpenter on has producer, kind of steering the ship, with a younger director at the helm (James Wan, director of Saw, maybe...). Bringing in some talented young people with new ideas would be the best thing for the series.

Oh yea, get rid of Moustapha Akkad...not only does he sound like a character out of the Lion King, he is the reason this series has gone so far down the drain.

They need to get Kurt Russell in this...
