Frankenfish

I just saw this on the main page of the CC: http://www.creature-corner.com/dvd/a...ankenfish.php3
I read the script for the movie and a friend of mine and I were up for the job of doing the make up/ creature effects, but things didn't work out. It actually is a pretty fun script and I'll be anxious to see it. So don't write it off, if it is true to what I read, it should be really cool.

That fish looks nothing like Al Franken.

It has China Chow.

I'll watch it.

I've been trying to track down information about this movie for some time now yet there's been virtually nothing on the web outside of basic story premise and casting. Mind you, I'm the same guy who can track down information on upcoming Nu Image/UFO Films months in advance yet I kept coming up empty on this. Personally, I'm actually really curious to see it especially after getting a look at the monster. I am a complete sucker for a good swamp monster movie and lord knows we're overdue for one.

Somebody get me a screener dvd pronto!

ummm. I can tell you about it. I've seen what was a...non-cleaned up...or...whatever they call before they smooth out the rough edges of the effects and such...copy.

In short: a few good scares....not as much gratuitous sex as one would like, that makes any movie more fun...some TERRIFC dialogue (what was left of ALL the terrific dialogue after the studio edited it)...and yeah. China Chow. Oh, and a gratuitous topless scene. Not China's though. Sorry guys.

With a name like that how could you not see this movie?

I see that this is coming on Saturday on Sci Fi. I'm anxious to see how it came out.

I'll admit.. I laughed out loud when I saw the first TV spot on Sci Fi.

I hope the movie is in that vein. If it's done "serious" like Boa V. Python et al, well...

Hey, remember me? Well, I got my hands on a screener of FRANKENFISH the other week and reviewed it. The most shocking thing - doesn't totally suck!

The Foywonder reviews FRANKENFISH

FRANKENFISH...It's what's for dinner!

Great review Foy. I'll have to seek this one out.

I read Foys review on Dread and now I gotta go rent this. Ya know I don't understand why they would cut it up. They pretty much left Dog Soillders alone.

I'll wait for the Frankenfish box set, which will inevitably include Frankenfish II: Frankenerfish, Frankenhookerfish, and Frankenfish Meets Draculobster.

Ah, too bad about that. Now here's Gene Gene the Dancin' Machine!

No seriously. I'm really waiting for those movies to come out.

Cheesy monster movies are the best, especially around this time of year. Great review Foy.
