"Paris, je t'aime": incredible directorial cast

Haven't found this in the forums yet.

"Paris, je t'aime" is an upcoming film about the 20 parts ("arrondissements") of Paris, with each of them a short film (probably 5 mns) handed to a different director. Now, those multi-directed films usually turn out to be shit, or at least hit and miss, but the director's list on this is quite mind-boggling:

Ethan Coen & Joel Coen
Mike Figgis
Jean-Luc Godard
Michel Gondry
Alejandro González Iñárritu
Wen Jiang
Stanley Kwan
Johnny Depp
Richard LaGravenese
Anne-Marie Miéville
Mira Nair
Vincenzo Natali
Mamoru Oshii
Sally Potter
Walter Salles
Oliver Schmitz
Nobuhiro Suwa
Daniela Thomas
Fernando Trueba
Tom Tykwer

Any film with the Coens, Gondry and Godard together has got my money, even if it will most likeky be quite disappointing

Vincenzo Natali and Mamoru Oshii are the ones whose short films I'm most interested in seeing. Sounds good.

Yeah, there's gotta be a film for everyone in there.

It should be visually interesting, but I'm not sure if the directors get to write their own segments or if it's all a pre-scripted hagiography of Paris. Which would suck.

Johnny Depp and Mike Figgis will make the worst of the lot and Michel Gondry will make the best.

Can you give me next week's lottery numbers?

Johnny Depp might make a good short for this. He seems to really care for paris so his view on it could be interesting. I haven't seen his directorial debut but a shor segment of a movie is pretty damn easier to accomplish than a feature lenght movie.
