Hey guys, here's an interview with REA's director Alexander Witt. Interview

I don't like how he prefers 28 DAYS LATER and the DAWN remake to Romero's films ... He sounds like a technician, not a director with a vision or passion for this project.

I don't like how he wished the rating was PG13.

Neither did I. All of a sudden I feel this is going to be another toned down movie. Even though it has an R. It will probably be a lot like RE1. A PG-13 rated movie that somehow got an R.

I agree. It sounds as if they were shooting for a PG-13 but in the end went with a R rating. Which means that this will most likely be extremely watered down with maybe a few charcters saying "Fuck!" now and then earning them the rating and not any excessive violence or nudity. That's just stupid. If you get a R rating why the hell not pull out all the stops? From the trailer I expect this to be more MATRIX RELOADED type R and not DAWN OF THE DEAD 2004 or KILL BILL type R.

I also got a bitter laugh out of him saying that the fans will recognize stuff from the games like the Nemesis. Um, I don't think so. Because in the game the Nemesis doesn't look like Freddy Krueger.

His interview with Fangoria was not good either. It seemed like he was trying to assure everyone that the movie wouldn't be gruesome. He also said that people enjoyed the dead people and dogs in the first film, so he included a couple of scenes involving them. Huh? I thought this movie was supposed to be wall to wall zombie action.

What a moron! I predict that this film will be even funnier than ALIEN vs. PREDATOR!

Maybe he's playing with us, maybe he's trying to lower our expectations and then surprise us with a truly awesome movie. wishful thinking.

Here are a few more comments from the Fangoria article that puzzled me. The producer said, 'There will also be more of an element of entertainment. I wouldn't want to compare it to Freddy vs. Jason, but it's practically over the top. So where the first one was almost heart-wrenching and disturbing(!?), the second one allows the audience to really cheer when someone dies.' Alice is now infected with the T-Virus and Milla said, 'That's such an important point-that she is dealing with this sickness. Because I've had good friends of mine coping with HIV. I love the fact that, in a certain way, there's going to be a hero out there for everyone in the world who has to face this day in, day out.' I guess we can expect a few scenes of zombies in an over the top action movie that somehow gives hope to people battling AIDS. I wish that Fango article would have given hope to fans that wanted to see a good zombie movie. Witt is a good cinematographer, so at least it will look good. It just sounds like there isn't going to be much horror in the movie.

Thanks for those quotes! This movie sounds more hilarious with every new piece of info I hear/see about it. I have really stopped expecting anything good from Hollywood movies so I now only go into them expecting schlock and trash and to have fun laughing drunkenly at the screen. That's how I got through the year so far ...

If you watch the QT trailer frame by frame, you can actually see Nemesis in full person. He looks like a bad Power Rangers villain..

I've never seen POWER RANGERS (to be honest I don't even know what that is) but the Nemesis sure looks pathetic in the trailer. Like a buffed up Freddy Krueger. I can't believe they took one of the most badass monsters in any medium and turned it into such crap. Not since RAWHEAD REX has so much potential been wasted so incompetently.
