Just saw Highwaymen

And I did not hate it, but was left wanting more. Both Jesus and Rhona Mitra do as much as they can with their roles and I really enjoyed the scene where Rhona and her pal are attacked by Colme Feore in the tunnel. At that point I thought this movie may really have been one of those unfortunate films that got bumped one to many times. Unfortunately the rest of the movie doesn't fare nearly as well. Harmon really needed to add at least another ten minutes to build up the characters and make us care about their ordeal. All in all I would give it like generous 5.5/10. Harmon almost made a worthy follow up to The Hitcher. Damn! Compared to shit like HOD, Jeepers Creepers 2, Harmon's They, and from what I hear Anacondas and Exorcist 4 this probably deserved a theatrical run, especially after Caviezel's exposure in Passion but I can see why it was a DTV movie. Anybody else care to chime in?

Jim Caviezel's wife is mowed down by a man in 72 Caddy. The police think the death of his wife is an accident and five years later Jim is tracking him all across the country while the dude keeps on mowing down people for kicks. Rhona Mitra is attacked but is able to survive. Caviezel then basically uses her as bait to extract his revenge. Directed by Robert Harmon of Hitcher fame.

No don't look for it! I've been waiting for this thing for a while and tuesday when it came out I ran right out and rented it. It had a really cool idea, some cool scenes but ultimately it was pretty fuckin terrible. Oh and not to mention an ending that was just.....what? I won't spoil it but a charecter does something that just doesn't make any sense. This is pretty bad considering this guy did the fucking hitcher like the best road horror film ever!

Don't forget that Feore's character is basically a cripple that's practically bio-engineered himself to his car. That was a pretty sweet idea when I had heard it. The movie, from what I've heard, was "a good walk spoiled" indeed.

Seen it this past week on TNT, caught me by surprise since I never seen it in Videostores for Rental. Watched about 4/5 of it, liked what I seen. Its not high art or any of the lame ass art shit that some people rub off to around here, but I thought it was a pretty decent, old fashioned car chase/revenge flick. In other words, it had some ball's that some recent "action films" have lacked
But see it wasn't a cool old fashion car chase revenge movie. There was only two confrontations in the whole flick. The idea of two men in cars, one looking for revenge and the other a killer whos crippled but incredible in a car was cool but it just didn't work out. For being such a whiz in cars he certainly didn't do anythng spectacular with his. Not to mention jesus's car just gets fucked up way too quick. The final confrontation was really fucking boring. And what balls did it have? Listen i enjoy a graphic ballsy acton flick like everyone else but this didn't really push any boundries or anything. As a matter of fact it wasn't all that gory and really nothing really happened. Not to mention the absurdity of some of it. He's tracking a cold blooded killer blah blah yet he wouldn't carry a gun? Why woudl you try an run his car off the road blah blah when you could ride up alongsie him and fucking shoot him. I mean hes unarmed except this fucking car, jesus says himself "thecar is his shell inside he's nothing" well then how bout you shoot some fucking holes in his tires, or how bout his gas tank? Christ the thing wasn't bulletproof was it. Not to mention the blacks guys motivation for doing anything. But I swear the most insulting part was at the end when he shot the killer! What the fuck! I guess it was supposed to be funny but......god it was stupid.
However I do see your point about the "high art" people always talk about here. I know my tastes are dramatically different then alotta people here, some of the stuff they suggest(MAY im looking at you!!) I really don't like. But I do enoy good writing a good story some action and so on.......... Highwaymen has none of these things. A puppetmaster movie is more enjoyable and more palusable in my opinion. Whew alright now that im done having a stroke I'll stop typing.
