From the trailers I thought it would just be a gore fest. It had a pretty good story, there were parts that made me roll my eyes, but all in all it was a fun movie. I wanna find out who the director of photography was, they did some intresting things.

Was it because of the five year olds on the seasaw?

But yea, I don't think this movie was made to be entertaining...disturbing and unnerving, maybe...but not entertaining.

i dont think a movie with the tagline 'how fucked up is that??' is out to command respect.

Then that's the problem. It's not disturbing or unnerving. It's suspenseful but never evokes real tension - atleast with me. Mostly because you don't really care about most characters as they're underwritten. Wan also uses some storytelling techniques that drains the film of tension. Wan also goes overboard on style in some sequences, which take you out of the film.

I just was at a screening last night and I love this movie, I had a blast, and it has some creepy moments in it as well

I thought the movie was less than the sum of its parts. Very stylish, and some great shocks, but ultimately it left me unmoved.

the twists and turns of the plot all seemed too precise and planned out. It was also way too long and I agree that you really didn't give a shit about the characters. Still, I thought it was pretty suspenseful for the first hour & the setup of the killer's signature murders was pretty cool.

Did anyone else think that the basic premise played out like a video game? It was like, find clue, collect item, use item, etc. Interesting idea.

Its just been released in the UK and im sorry but the film is terrible
they have wasted a good script and some great ideas because the
acting is just awful and i mean bloody atrocious..

Even an old pro like Danny Glover puts in a very lacklustre and uninspired
performance but he still managed a better one than the two leads overall
it was mediocre at best

As Birdie said "you dont give a shit about the charactors"
you know when a film has problems when your rooting for the villian
to kill the young girl just to shut the little fucker up
