Stephen King's The Dark Tower

Thread Starter
So I ran out of my house this morning and bought a copy of The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower, I took a deep whiff, sniiiiiiffffff...ahhh, fresh.

Now it sits here, the last volume to the greatest story I will ever read. As I sit here and try to force myself not to flip ahead and drool over Michael Whelan's pictures, I can't help but feel anxious. This is it people! I've been waiting 10 years for this moment, but also dreading it a little too I guess. I can't see how Stephen King can end this behemoth, but I guess I'll soon find out. Is anyone else as excited (and a whee bit obsessed...in a healthy, not insane way) as I am?

the last sentence of the book will drive you bonkers. In a good way, IMHO

I'm glad someone out there is excited like me (Puppetmaster Fan doesn't respond to my "private" messages ). I only got into the Dark Tower a year ago and I"m catching up however I will probably stay away from all Dark Tower threads for the reason I don't want it spoiled for me just like Astromarine almost did with that statement

the key word is almost. Teasing people without spoiling them is an art, you know.

Shipped to me yesterday. I have a 300+ page monstrous book to finish before I can read DT7, and that's going to be pure torture. NEED to read this.

I need to start over from the beginning.

After finishing Song Of Susannah I decided to re-read all 6 volumes again. I figured I had 3 months, so 2 books a month, easy going & then rush to the store on the 21st to buy the most eagerly anticipated book of my life.

Well, that was the plan. I fell behind with my reading a little, but not by much. Then I break my foot (while reading book 6, literally), which means I haven't been able to get to the store yet. GRRRR!!

Anyway, gotta go & get the foot looked at again tomorrow & maybe a cast put on it so I might just try & sweet talk the wife into making a small detour afterwards.

Not being able to grab Volume 7 ( & the Star Wars DVD's) on Tuesday REALLY pissed me off. I mean come on, what better way to reat a busted foot than with fave movies & the conclusion to the greatest set of books ever?

One last thing. Am I the only one who is a littled underwhelmed by the artwork on the cover this time? It just seems a little dull to me.

You don't...maybe I was thinking about messaging you and thought I did but really didn't. I don't know I sometimes feel like I'm crazy, sorry. BTW I wanted to message you about "Sisters of Eluria" becuz I remember you doing a thread on it and I wanted to check it out becuz I had Everything Eventual...Good story, would be a great movie...Well it's time to go back to work, see ya.

Yup never got anything but yeah I've always said it would make a great movie. You really could keep the story almost exactly as written and just turn it into a horror western. All the stuff about susan delango and all would jsut amke him more mysterious. Then if it did well they could make the dark tower flicks and explain that the green monsters were mutants and the town was abondoned because the world moved on..... and so forth chronicles of riddick style. And if it didn't do too well? oh well then it stands as a horror western with some vague dark tower references.
But really from now on I gotta stay outta this thread because I haven't even started reading song of susannah yet! And I'll be damned if this gets spoiled for me.
