A pretty damn good review of the Kill Bill script is up on Dark Horizons. Check it out.

saw it - guy looks like a dick rider of QT but the review wasn't saying that much.

still looking forward to the flick though

I've also heard that it's a terrible script, with no story and endless pages of over-described fight scenes. I want to look forward to this, but it'd be a lot easier if it looked like he was moving forward, not backward.

Are you talking about the review over at Corona's Coming Attractions? 'Cause I don't know if I trust ol' Darwin Mayflower yet. I've heard more good things than bad about Kill Bill, and anyway, Tarantino's work deserves to be seen on the screen, not the page.

Of course, maybe I'm just compensating. But the script Darwin describes doesn't sound radically different in structure from "True Romance", and that one worked.

For the record I wrote the review. And I am not a "dick rider" of QT. It is a fucking brilliant script.

It was a fair review, no gratuitous drool. I liked the fact that a Quentin script is packed less with dialgoue, and heavier on visuals.

A silent Tarantino movie is evolution.

John Anderton, I was responding to Dan Whitehead.

Sorry man, didn't have any coffee this morning.

On an unrelated note, to anyone who isn't sure wether to buy the hype...this movie isn't Citizen Kane or Godfather...it is just a fucking brillaint mix of dozens of genres. It is going to be a defining geek movie, like Evil Dead 2, Pulp Fiction or the Matrix.

this is true - the first reviewer at corona was a proclaimed dick rider of QT but still dismissed the film due to the script.

I am looking forward to the book qt is writing just as much as the film - i think it will definitely flesh out the script more and put shut some naysayers mouths but overall i think it will work better on screen in the end.

I was really uneasy about the casting of David Carradine, but after I watched a few of his flicks then read this script I cannot wait to see him portray Bill.

i've read the Kill Bill script. i'll probably be reviewing it on the site in the next couple of weeks.

i won't comment on Anderton's review, but i can say that i liked it quite a bit, although it is neither the crap Mayflower seems to think it is, nor "fucking brilliant". based on the script, this film will certainly not be for everyone. i foresee the final product being elevated by a limited number of genre fans while being reviled by the general moviegoing public. it's a relatively pointless, extremely violent, shameless homage to westerns, Shaw Brothers kung-fu movies, exploitation flicks and samurai epics, and while i must say that appeals to me as much as it apparently does to QT, i can't imagine a vast majority of moviegoers feeling the same way. personally i just really hope he can pull off in film what he put on the page.

i will say, however, that i'm glad to see QT making whatever the hell he wants to make and not worrying about "shooting for the gold".

Just out of curiosity, did you dig the squirt gun or fish scene as much as I did?
