A couple years ago I went to a screening of Touch of Evil, and she had a Q&A session afterwards. She was classy, funny, had loads of energy, and seemed to never tire of talking about her experiences making these wonderful movies.

Last week I watched the original The Manchurian Candidate for the first time. Her bizarre role in the movie was one of the hignt points of the movie.

She will be missed.

I've never heard of vasculitis, the condition that attributed to her death. She was married four times by age 37. Wow!! At least her last marriage was long and fulfilling (she was married 40 years to Robert Brandt.) Finally, I want to thank her for Jamie Lee.

The first thing I thought of was "poor Jamie". She's been through so much, and now losing her mother. I absolutely love Janet Leigh. In her interview in the behind the scenes featurette of "Psycho" , she was so gracious and good-natured.

On a related note, has anyone seen the Columbo episode with her in it, where she murders her husband who is standing in the way of her character making her great Broadway comeback? In the episode, her character has a screening room in her home in which she watches old movies of herself in her character's heyday. There is one movie in particular, with the song "Walking My Baby Back Home"...is this from and actual Janet Leigh movie , and does anyone know which? I assumed they used footage from one of her movies, but I had never seen it before.

A sad, sad day. A classy lady to be sure. She will be missed.

On a side note, I wonder if Harry Knowles will be bawling for 12 hours today?
