Where did everybody go?

Ive been thinking the exact same thing myself for a while.

They have to have all gone somewhere.

Some went to Dread Central forums which are moderated with an Iron Hand. Johnny and Uncle Creepy are kinda rough on some of the posters and they are all business now. Sad

Yeah, a lot of folks went over to the Dread Central boards. I hang out at both.

I've been working a lot lately. But I'm still here and there.

We're harsh? I had no idea. All we do is the same thing Nick & crew has been doing for years over here; making sure the assholes stay away. And so far it's working like a charm!

The CC will make a comeback sooner or later.

I'm still here, mostly just lurking now until something catches my eye.

I still have much love for you and the gang Johnny Butane. It just feels kinda like a family got broke up so I'm still trying to get used to it. The CC always had and still does have a kind of freespirit mentality that dread doesn't have.

Too many damn subforums!!! lol

I'm still here, the shock of adjusting to a new forum would be too much for me.

Are you referring to the site or the boards? Cause if nothing else the site's gotten more free since the move...

Hey, Uncle Creepy over Devin any day of the week!

The kids over there are good shit. So far, I haven't seen anyone reprimanded that wasn't asking for it in the first place. Besides, UC's letting a lot of arbitrary humor run rapant over there, which i dig, and there isn't a lot of "Fuck you, I'm right and you're wrong" shit going on over there. People are having heated, but thoughtful, discussions over at the HC. The vibe's completely different.

I still go lurk here, but there really hasn't been anything that has caught my attention. I like Robyn's Rants, but that's about it. The new guy just ain't as much of a presence as Johnny and Ryan were.

BTW, Johnny, are you still a moderator here? Cause they still got you listed as one.

Johnny the site kicks ass and I love the new look. The forums just seem all over the place. I like to go to one area and talk about anything horror wise whether it be movies , books or whatever. Just a personal preference.

I feel the same. There's far from on iron hand approach but there is a line that can be crossed. I've always felt it was done fairly with appropriate warning and no one gets singled out.

The volume of forums can be daunting but managable. I do think it's kind of cute that there is a whole section of folks who are there to post pictures of themselves and generally chat about their lives and experiences and all that stuff. Nothing wrong with that but I rarely see any of them discuss any horror film beyond the most widespread, popular films that pretty much everyone else sees. To each their own.

I do keep checking on the Corner. I don't have any negative feelings at all regarding it and you have my support. CC is building and updates have been slow and the personality of the writers still need to find their voice. That will take time, especially in gathering up the writing expertise and energy that Johnny and Ryan brought to DreadCentral.

I bugged out for a while because this site infected me with adware, dammit. I'm tentatively sticking my toe in the water now.

Anyone spying on me? I feel sorry for you. My security is my dullness.

Yeah Im pretty much sticking here. Well I mean the forums anyway. Right now I sorta use dread central for news and creture corner for their forums. It's not that I don't get news here because I do it's just that the corner is still getting on it's feet. I do trust that eventually it will get back to alotta of updates and such. I really can't stand the way the boards are over at dread. I mean the people seem nice enough and have a real passion for horror, it's just the lay out sucks. Not to mention the forums over there load so damn slow. If I were to check every forum there it wou take me at least two hours. It drives me crazy.

Too many catagories

I see this agruement on the board here all the time that there are too may catagories over at The Horror Channel and that is why people are staying here. Well actually there are less. You are just going directly to the Creature Corner section of C.H.U.D.'s message board here: http://chud.com/forums/index.php? that actually has 39, yes 39 different catagories. The Horror Channel has 29, ten less. All you have to do is go to the Dread Central section of the message board and post anything and everything like you did and are doing at the Creature Corner section of this message board. Well, I gotta admit I was one of those that disappeared. I started checking out the HC boards about a week before the DC launch and was hesitant about all the forums and pretty much kept myself in the DC one and branched out the the Vintage Vault. I had planned on doing both, but just ended up over there. The forums really aren't that big of a deal to get used to. I still don't hit them all either. In fact, for me, it really just feels like 2 or 3 more. I hit the Books/comics one there....which is kind of like the seperate sticky comics one here, and the TV one occasionally and the Music one occasionally, but spend most my time in the DC one and Vintage Vault. Plus, there's a great one called the FX work shed which is all about swapping ideas and techniques on all manner of make up and special effects which has been a help on my horror host show.

But yeah, it wasn't a hard adjusment to make at all. And there were so many other people from the Corner there that I guess I just spent more time there. Besides a drop into the Comics sticky on occasion, this is my first time back here in quite awhile.

I don't know, I guess in my head, when I moved to DC....I moved everything, I don't know.

Dropped in on the Corner a couple of times....not a huge fan of the layout. Plus, the new guy said In the Mouth of Madness was 'tepid." I just can't have that!!!

I'm lucky I wasn't drinking anything when I read that, or my monitor would've been covered in beverage.

I am not familiar with many of you, but some have been posting at my thread Robyns Rants and I appreciate it... hey, a fake blonde actress gets lonely too.... so lets make this board as awesome as it can be and lets stop worrying about who is where and have fun.... is there any threads that you think we should add or anything.. just let me know, Ill see what I can do or not do....

Nick had a thread going about expanding the message board. He was going to add a few sections to the CC. Whatever happened with that?
