Let's just say that I work at one of those places that got their shipment in really early and management let me grab one under the table. paid for of course

**possible spoilers**

Now that I'm a fair ways into it, I'm liking it a lot more. I don't know if I should post story details, but let's just say there's new characters to play, and some familiar places. If anyone wants details, ask away.
I'm enjoying it quite a bit, just got off of a couple hour go at it, when I should be studying for a mid-term tomorrow, dammit.

Bottom line is this: Microsoft said they'd send me one, especially after I said we'd get the review up on time and that I was planning to buy two copies for a CHUD giveaway. It hasn't arrived. It's been something I really wanted to make a big deal with, tweak the CHUD design with a HALO flair, and all that. They shafted me. I have a few people who I could probably beg for a copy but I don't like doing that. I know a lot of readers have access. I have the money I was going to use for the contest. I have a baby to watch for most of the weekend. What better way to spend it then getting ready for next week. Someone has to like me enough to earn a quick buck fifty, right?

Jack maybe you should overnight yours to Nick, let him do the review and get him to send it back. Hell if I had a copy I'd do it. It sounds like microsoft has a restriction on when reviews can go up (ign and teamxbox are BOTH posting theirs on Sunday, noon PST) maybe they think your're such a rebel you'll post it early.Heh. Hopefully someone will get a copy to ya !!


Jack I do have a question though. The Halo 2 site posted a pic of an ATV, then took it down about 4 days later. Did it make it into the game or not ?

So have you tried contacting Microsoft again Nick? Maybe they were planning to be pricks all along, and intend on sending you it the day before release when it would be of no viable use for a review or something.

I have an equally important question...WHO WILL HOST THE 16 MAN CHUD GAME!?!?!

It would be cool if we could just rape the site's bandwidth by somehow using it's server to host our Halo 2 shenanigans. The best thing is, if it was possible I'm willing to bet Nick would do it. He's so hyped up for this.

hehehe. yea it would be nice for someone with a large bandwith pipe to be the host...

but from what i have been hearing, Bungie has spend a lot of time testing and tweaking the net code. People are saying if the massive amounts of ppl online in the first week dont crash the game just due to sheer numbers that the netcode will make for the most lag free xbox live gaming experience to date.

ATV eh? Perhaps I'm just not far enough along in the game yet, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of an ATV, just the warthog(s) and the scorpion. Doesn't show up in the instruction booklet either, but that reminds me. I'm digging the new alien vehicles you get to drive..

I'd love to overnight my copy to Nick, but my friends would lynch me. We've been playing 4 screen multiplayer games every other night since i got it because we're trying to get a leg up on the masses of xbox live folks on Nov. 9. If we quit practicing now, I'm a dead man in their eyes. Plus I'm really starting to get into it..

Oh, and the game comes with a booklet called "Conversations From the Universe", basically a transcript of most of the goings on with the ilovebees website and the AI takeover thingamajig that a lot of us gave up on.

Went to the videostore and the guy showed me Halo 2, all set for rent, being held until Nov. 9th, he's going to check it out tonight, dosn't have Xbox live.

apparently Meijer's in the midwest (specifically michigan) have supposedly broken the street date. I imagine MS put the kibosh on it fast, but there are a handful of people who have the game in their possession right now.

1. I can't access ebgames.com from behind the firewall here at work ( )

2. The wife just left the house, and I'm hesitant to have her open the package anyway because the usual would likely happen (the 2 year old will destroy everything).

i was curious of that too...last time he posted was sometime this morning...so it may be possible he has it.

Also, Badger I added you to my friend's list although I think rather than us sitting down and adding 50-60 Chewers to our friend's list, I think we can wait till we start a clan and I think by joining the clan we will be able to monitor when any one of us are online.

Halo 2 on EBAY

I am as geeked on this game as everyone else.. (already got a vacation day on 11/9 to work my way through the game).. but I CAN wait a fwe more days....

According to this article people are paying well over $200 for early copies.. I guess if you have the money to burn, go ahead..

But I'll wait with the masses like everyone else and hopefully Novemeber 9th beceomes a national holiday
