Still, clocking in at No. 1 is an actress of whom even the weight-conscious Hurley would approve: "King Arthur" starlet Keira Knightley, 19, she of the fat-free frame and collar bones that could cut glass.

Curvy Marilyn landed at No. 6, behind Angelina Jolie (No. 2) and Halle Berry (No. 4), and ahead of Jennifer Connelly (No. 7), Scarlett Johansson (No. 9), and Uma Thurman (No. 10).

As for the boys, you can forget rippling muscles and overt displays of testosterone. The sexiest men are slender, sensitive types, with "Lord of the Rings" elf Orlando Bloom swooping into third place and his "Pirates of the Caribbean" co-star Johnny Depp grabbing fifth. Hugh Jackman, who can move easily between tough guy (Wolverine) and song-and-dance man ("The Boy from Oz"), was No. 8.

A few other fun ranking facts: Matt Damon squeaked onto the list (No. 97) but buddy Ben Affleck did not. Ben's reported squeeze Jennifer Garner nabbed the No. 46 slot, with his former fiancée Jennifer Lopez just a few paces ahead at No. 42 (ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow was nixed). And while Brad Pitt ranked fifteenth, wife Jennifer Aniston had to settle for No. 44, one spot below Elijah Wood.

Among the Hollywood legends who were singled out: Paul Newman (No. 12), the late Marlon Brando (No. 13, for young, "Streetcar Named Desire" Brando, not eccentric "Island of Dr. Moreau" Brando), Rita Hayworth (No. 16), Audrey Hepburn (No. 23), Steve McQueen (No. 31), Cary Grant (No. 77), and James Dean (No. 82).

There ain't no way Keira Knightley is better looking than Orlando Bloom. She's just too new on the scenes to receive any kind of all time honors, let alone trying to declare her better looking than Jennifer Connelly or
Brad Pitt. Now Angelina getting the top spot I could see...

Agreed. These lists are always stupid, but this one is particularly moronic. There's nearly a century of film being ignored (minus a few token nods) in favor of flavor-of-the-month types. Knightley? A pretty face on a scarecrow's body and not much of an attitude I can detect. The distinction between physically attractive and sexy is not being recognized either. Knightley, Berry, Connelly, Thurman, Portman, even Grace Kelly... varying degrees of pretty (to beautiful even, in some cases), but not sexy. Monroe, Jolie, Bellucci, Bardot... now, those I think you could make a pretty good case for.

And Bana, Farrell, Bloom, and Jackman? Interesting that so many of the top 20 sexiest men of all time have only emerged in the last five years or so. Given the percentages that would allow for this phenomenon, men must just generally be on some sort of sexy upswing. It must be a good decade to be a woman.

Are you saying those people don't belong? Rita Hayworth is hot and deservers her ranking.

The list is still crap. I love Keira but only 1 of her roles could really be considered sexy. Hugh Jackman and Orlando Bloom have nothing on Newman. He's the king.

Yeah, there should be seperate lists.

Many of those women are beautiful (I love Kierra and Uma) but they don't exude raw sexiness like Monica Bellucci does.

That list , like so many others, seems primarily to bolster the careers of current stars like Knightley, I don't find her remotely attractive but that's subjective. Knightley sexier than Belluci? In which alternate reality.

Lauren Bacall not being mentioned is another reason why this list is worthless.

This list has confused the piss out of me. Keira Knightly? She is what...19 years old? I've only known who she was for about a year. And I don't even consider her sexy. Attractive, maybe. Sexier than Angelina Jolie? Brigitte Bardot? Rita Hayworth? This list is wack.

Ooh! Suit you, sir!

Film Review also had their own list the same month and it is a bit more reasonable. Paul Newman was ranked number 1.

Shoddy list (Paul Walker's in for crying out loud). Halle should give up her spot to the Goddess Bellucci and go back to being a door opener or whatever the heck she described herself.

Orlando Bloom is the sexiest male movie star ever?!? Crikey. If not James Dean, I would have said Mickey Rourke, who doesn't seem to be on the list at all. I never thought of Newman that way, but he's a much better choice than Bloom.

Marilyn Monroe should be #1. The definition of "Sexy" and beautiful, with Bellucci right behind her and that's all there is to it. Rath had a great list of the old-timers.

The actor? Hmm.. can I choose, oh, say, 15 or more?

Picking from the current crop, I'd say Colin Farrell. He's a dawg and a lot of women find that intriguing. He's good looking and exudes sex appeal. Charming, confident and his brogue is just an added bonus.
