God, this is so fucking gossipy. But in general, tends to whine about the maps/weapons/modes until he gets one he wants. For some reason he was on a friend's buddy list who isn't in the clan and I think that was the first time I played with him and we were both spitting blood by the end of a couple of matches. I will grant you he has some skills, but most seem to be bitch skills. "I got the needler. That's why you won." "That was just luck(that you killed me)." So I killed him with a one shot plasma, battle rifle combo. There's your fucking skill, asshole. "Man, everyone is just using the no skill weapons." "I haven't started with the rocket launcher in forever!" Jesus. We were doing random weapons and he. Just. Would't. Shut. UP. So, there you go. I don't think I've played with Guardian, but Azalin wins my Shittiest Player I've Played With award.

I'll probably be on aroun 10ish, 1ish tonight.

Now we can all be on the lookout in case he joins in a game, cause he is on a "friends" list. I am going to try and play some early tonight (around 6:00pm-ish EST) but I have stuff going on later so it will be short. Although I may come home after drinking and try and play. I have never played drunk, that could be fun...

I love when people complain that they only had the Needler. If you know what you're doing, the Needler can be potent.

I'll be on around 6 PM EST, too - and most likely on and off again all night; I'll be out of town for the rest of the weekend, so I'll need to feed the Halo 2 addiction while I can...

Please to be explaining. I need some 'pointers' on using the Needler and the Plasma Sword, as they are weak weapons for me.

I started messing around with Needlers about the same time I began practicing with the Battle Rifle, since I realized that they were the two weapons everyone avoided - and therefore were really easy to find. It had gotten to the point where I would just go without a second weapon rather than picking one of these up... and I was dying a lot because of it.

So... experimentation!

I found that my habit with all the weapons was to strafe (and usually from left to right, which makes it predictable; that's another thing I'm working on). But with a Needler, I find strafing to be a bad thing. They do home slightly, so aiming is a little different, but whenever I tried strafing I found that I wouldn't hit with enough needles to get the explosion. If you run directly toward someone while shooting, as you close the gap the flying-time for the needles decreases and I find that I'm able to stick them with more needles that way.

The best situation is when you're in a narrow tunnel or hallway so they can't dodge as effectively, especially when they have a very short-range weapon like the shotgun. Another advantage is that the pink needles really fill up the screen, and can have a really distracting effect - your opponent isn't always going to be able to tell if he's successfully dodging or not, and since his first reaction is going to be "Needles? Ha ha! What a joke!" he'll probably just try and charge at you.

They're not the best weapon, of course, and since a needle kill often means you're going to die due to the time-delay of most of the damage it's not the optimum choice - but I've racked up some pretty decent Needler kills on my way to the more all-around weapons.

Hopefully someone will ring in with good Energy Sword strategies. Sometimes I have really spectacular runs with the Sword, and sometimes I have really bad luck - nothing super consistent yet.

And there's the rub: HE'S IN OUR CLAN. Fuck. And billy, it does feel good to just punch the fuck out of someone in the game. Especially during oddball with the skull. I did get a kill on someone with the brute shot last night, though. He had the sword and I nailed him with a grenade and SOMEHOW he missed me and I took a swipe at him. Then stared at his corpse and near shit my pants. It was beautiful

The needler is great for defending your base. Especially bombing runs where they have to sit still on the spot for a long while. Dual needlers are deadly in close quarters. I often do this if there is time when I'm defending on Zanzibar.

The sword, well it takes practice. But basically hold you recticle on an enemy target, and once it turns red hit the right trigger. Another great idea is not to walk around with the sword out, this attracts unneeded attention since all the bad guys that see you will swarm on your target. Whip it out when an enemy comes into range and if you had a red target lock, hit your right trigger soon as you change weapons. The sword is another great asset for defending a base. But on just about all the maps, the sword is miles away from the base. So it's often times to your advantage to wait for an enemy to bring it to you.

Played a custom game yesterday and they kept saying I was camping on Zanzibar, this during a match which relied mainly on sniping, god people are so picky when they play, like those people who bitch when they only have the lower powered weapons, you can just go find another better one, I run out of ammo sometimes, I don't complain, I look for one and assassinate someone if they get in my way.

and we need to get better at clan games, we're dropping levels, eep.

I've gotten kinda sick of the whole clan match thing. We end up playing the exact same objectives and maps over and over again. With all the variety they have built into the game, you'd think Bungie would take advantage of it for matchmaking. But, they don't and it's gotten boring. I wish there was a way you could do a search for custom games.

Speaking of custom games, we should play more of them. I was playing a fun game today with some people called "Dawn of the Dead."

Say you have 16 players, 15 of them will be red and 1 is blue. The blue guy is the "zombie," everyone else humans. Now, everyone starts out with swords, but only the zombie is allowed to use the sword. The zombie can also not use any other weapon but the sword. The humans are opposite, they can't use the sword, but can use any other weapon available on the map.

Now, if you get killed by the blue guy, you become a "zombie" as well. You switch teams and join the blue side. This continues until every last red guy has been killed and everyone is blue. Thus ushering in the end of the world.

Perhaps it doesn't sound like that much but it was a blast to play. I figure the people of CHUD would appreciate a game called "Dawn of the Dead." It's awesome to be the last red guy, standing on the steel girder on Headlong, looking down and seeing 15 "zombies" heading your way.

I'll save the game type to my system, I'm going on now so if anyone wants to play later, I'll be on.

That sounds pretty neat, outta try that sometime.

Though i'm sure the clan thing will become a little bit less repetitive when they change the playlist, or HEY add some downloadable levels!

Problem is MAjor confines you to Coagulation almost all the time, I'd like to get a map that was too small to change it up.

Anywho checked out the stats, good work in minor clanmatches, really we should all try and figure out who we work with best, I work best with Booty Baron, Space, Kyle, and Storn.

And I finally get my brick part of my headset back this weekend, sweet, not being able to speak sucks, and yeah I can hear you guys on my T.V.

We're playing "Dawn of the Dead" now. It is the greatest game of all time. Especially on Headlong.

Edit - Lot of fun tonight guys. I'll be on again tomorrow(Saturday night) for some more Dawn of the Dead action. I fixed the game up a bit too. Now, the humans will have magnums to start out with and I also took off the motion sensor.

yeah, they should only use human weapons, of course the only problem is people not following the rules and using whatever the hell they feel like....

I finally got the brick part of my mic, I just gotta get it back to my usual place, connect it with the mic and voila, back online speaking, no more listening to people wishing they had new quotes from a count chocula ad to use.

The latest variation on this that I've seen had the humans starting out with Shotguns, with magnums on the map, and no shields at all. I think that ought to make the game more interesting.

Dawn of the Dead is my favorite new gametype, hands-down.

The best maps to play in are Headlong, Midship, and Zanzibar. I'm a big Coagulation fan, but it really sucks for this type of game, since the zombies have no ranged weapons. On the same note, I hate Headlong for any type of objective game, but it's absolutely perfect for DotD.

I mentioned this last night but if you could turn off the team icons and played Juggernaut you could call it "The Thing" cause you couldn't tell which one is it, only when you got a shot lined up with them.....

and did bungie change it so you can use more weapons in multiplayer cause we used the sentinal beam last night and I thought you couldn't........

Ok, I'm getting tired of Halo 2 multiplayer. The campaign though is suprisingly refreshing. Hrmm, I may wait a while before stepping on multiplayer again, unless we get a big clan night together again or something.

I think it was always available, but only if you adjusted the weapons options before starting a game. I know I've seen it in "random weapons" mode.

I'm guessing the fuel rod gun isn't available at all, which is odd considering the rocket launcher is a valid choice.

Yeah, Dawn of the Dead mode is a blast, even though I'm fucking terrible at it. Standing on the Ascension command tower with 12 other guys while the zombies stormed the entrance was just too cool for words.

As fun as Dawn is, and it IS fun, could we perhaps mix up modes a little bit more? We played Dawn for AT LEAST 2 hours last night and it was starting to feel a little old. Although that first game on Colossus was great. "You realize we have to repopulated the earth..." and spawing back in as a zombie and seeing EVERYONE who was human had been reduced to zombie status. But what I'm saying is just intersperse another game type every now and again.

DotD mode sounds awesome. But how do you respawn on the other team? Is there an option that is available to do this in setup, or do you get a choice when you die which team you want to be on?

While I intended to play last night, I fell asleep at 9:30, and now I find out that I missed the zombie apocalypse. I'M NEVER SLEEPING AGAIN.

We need to play Dawn of the Dead: Jesus Edition sometime this week or next to celebrate the holiday season. The rules are exactly the same, but we call the first guy the Zombie Jesus instead of just the Zombie. Everyone that Zombie Jesus kills is "converted" to his undead cult.

Then we all drink eggnog and play drunken Invisible Rocketball. It'll be swell.

On team games you can switch teams at any time during play. You have to press start and then choose "Change Teams" in the options. After you change teams your character "dies" and then immediately respawns on the team you selected in options.

Green Dr Z were apparently dealing with some network error problems last night, and thusly had to turn away from all the party games (*lemon face*). Hopefully tonight we'll be back in the game; otherwise, it'll be time to work on my Rumble Pit ranking... whee!

Alright, the holidays are over (well New Years is coming soon) so it is time to forget about your family, ignore your friends, and get back to playing some Halo 2. I noticed that the amount of people playing has been smaller lately. So fire up your XBOX's and let's go.

Although I did get Burnout 3 for Christmas and I have been playing that a lot, lately.. damn that is a sweet game..
