CHUD.com HALO 2 Clan - Page 2

How good do we have to be at the game to be a valued member of the clan?

I don't have Live yet, but I plan on getting it for Halo 2 and I'd love to be part of this. I just wouldn't want to bring the group down because my mad skillz may not be up to snuff with some of the killers out there. I'm decent, but not great. I've only played Halo multiplayer in bursts here and there and it's some of the most fun I've ever had with a game. This would be great.

Does anyone know how to set the clan up?
It stands to reason that the clan functionaliity'll be addressed one way or another on the bungie site. They've already got a section set up for stats, but as of now its still unavailable.
As far as I know, anybody with a Live account has the ability to create a clan. If you create it, you're the "Overlord" for that clan. Aside from choosing the team colors (green and black, I'm assuming?) and assigning logos or decals, you have the ability to set up second-tier members (forget what they're officially called). These generals (or whatever) can then send out invites to other players and help build the ranks. But the actual busywork of creating the Clan has to be done on the Live servers once you actually have a copy of the game.

It doesn't seem too complicated. Just pick the name and colors, then choose five or six people to be your generals/lackeys/Rikers. Those are the guys who go out and type in everybody's name. I think.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/

Its up now. According to the weekly update, it will function intermittently until the 9th. They're still getting it set up apparently. looks pretty cool so far though.
I guess I better start adding you all to my buddy list. Almost there...woohoo !!!!!!
Nick, surf around the internet. I think there are a few webpages where you can sign your clan up for tournaments that will be held on a regular basis. Still, no one knows the details about how a clan will work. It will probably be a while before people start having big tournaments.

I just spent a chunk of time adding everyone from this thread. A couple people wouldn't show up so check to be sure you've spelled your tag correctly. Just awaiting returns on my requests.
According to Bungie, you can't do anything until you own the game. So starting clans must be done through Halo, but there will be a ton of Web based functions for the clan once we are up and running.

I also want to reiterate my suggestion for a slogan... "HERE'S CHUD IN YOUR EYE...BITCH!!!"

i'm curious how its going to work with having four players on an xbox on live using clans. i mean, i'm not gonna make my friends buy their own subscriptions and shit....
No, you can your friends can't all join the clan from one Xbox. They will all share your account, you'll be in the game, and they'll be called 'Ninhead's Guest'. Only you can join the clan because they don't have account, their presence in the game is only temporary, and you'll also be the only one able to use voice.

I think clan games are a members only type thing. Sort of defeats the purpose of having special clans stats when you can let jo3-blo-em-up-lots guests 1-4 join the clan matches too. It sounds like they can join in on non ranking games only. But I guess we'll find out soon enough.....
ya just to clear it up.

If you have guests playing online from one xbox live account, they will just be guests, and you guys can only play unranked games.

Unfortunately, your friends wont be a factor as far as "clan matches" go.

If this is still open, I'm in.

So, how's this thing gonna work? I read a little about the clan stuff in IGN's review, so I know it's all managed through Bungie's website. I'm assuming that since it's a CHUD team Nick will be our own personal Master Chief. So, does he set it up and then send us the sign-up info or something? I just want to make sure that I'm part of this thing as soon as I can be. As has been stated time and time again, this game is going to own all of our souls for a while, and I want to be all in right from the start. I can't fucking wait.
The person who creates the clan is the "overlord." He can send out all the invites and manage the clan himself, or he can assign any number of friends to be "staff." Staff players can send invites, add players, and boot troublemakers. The lowest level is the "peon," who is capable of playing in any of the clan games, but unable to invite new members or boot troublemakers.

I'd be up for some Xbox CHUD pain-making. Should get my copy of the game this week, and will sign up to Live shortly after.

Well, seeing as how this is only the 78th reply (79 if you count Nick's first post) to this thread, I would imagine that everyone here is in. And not all of the replies have been asking to be added to the clan, so there's probably only like 60 or so people who are going to be added as of right now.

I agree "peon" was a horrible title to name the cannon fodder..

While minion isn't bad, I'm a classic kinda guy.. they should have gone with henchmen or heck even grunt would have worked...

peon my ass, I might just not get this game now..in protest....

Okay I over-reacted... I'll be a peon..

So we should send a request to your gamertag, correct?

I think he means thats the clan name on the bungie site. I thought Nick's gamer tag was just CHUDcom. Thats what I sent my friend request to, and it was accepted. I'm sure he'll clarify and we'll get everything sorted out soon....

Dont forget to register on Bungie and XBOX to link your gamertags...

Wait, you have to register on the site in order to track your stats?
Look for me on there - gamer tag should be Videodrome, unless my debug tag has been reset again, in which case I'll come back with something bigger and better.

I'm still trying to figure it out myself, but from everything I can read right now... YES

I have signed up on Bungie but XBOX is unable able to link right. And my usually very fast connection is seriously bogged down over there..

Hope it gets fixed..

I don't see you. But it searches by .net login. And if you do not allow others to see your gamertag, we may never find you..

I'm wayward1 for anybody who wants to add to list..

Your not showing up at all wayward1. It says you're not found. I found Videodrome though.

I'm referring to X-box live here, not bungie's stat pages. I'll try to figure that stuff out after I finish my schoolwork.

Going to add team members, is there a limit to the number of friends you can have on your list?

chuddotcom is the clan thing right?

Aleski 182 is on there playing Halo 2 RIGHT NOW!!! Just a little over two more hours.

OK - forget what I said about videodrome. Look for rfischer instead. The videodrome account seems to be temporarily disabled, and I can't get it back without going through Microsoft's PR dept. Gr.

It's Up.

As soon as I get it tommorow i'm going to just smack gamers around all day.

Hmmm, it says "Date Created: 1/1/1601"

...Guess Bungie needs to iron out a few kinks in their system.
