at age 29! What gives?! I've been sneezing non-stop, but don't have any other cold symptoms. This sucks.

Allergies suck monster cock. Claritin used to work magic for me but now I have to pay to get that shit over the counter. I tried Allegra, I believe, and it was decent enough, although the combination of Claritin and Flonase was like Montana-to-Rice against Team Allergy.

I'll second the Allegra (though Claritin was the shit 'til it went over the counter). Fortunately for me, my allergies have slowly subsided the older I've gotten.

You can still obtain Allegra, Allegra-D, Claritin and Claritin-D through a prescription from your doctor. The dosages are higher and they actually work better than the OTC pills at similar dosage...plus most of them are covered by insurance. I take Allegra-D on occasion, and use it regularly when I get a cold. It's really the only thing that actually works.

Unfortunately, most presciption allergy medications are not fully covered by your insurance anymore since things like claritin went OtC. You have to get a written form submitted to your insurance co. by your doctor telling them that the OtC drugs don't work for you or detailing some other reason that you have to take that specific med. It's probably still cheaper than buying a month's worth of OtC pills but still. My Allegra cost me $40 insted of the normal $25 I used to pay.

Unfortunately, since I'm no longer employed, I have no health insurance, nor money to go to a doctor to figure out if I have developed allergies.

...breeze through an entrance-level clerical-based job interview. Get the job...stay with them for the probationary period and then use the employee benefits to cash in on health insurance. See the doc...get your diagnosis and VAMOOSE!

...good to go...

You are assuming that there are jobs available in NYC. I have yet to find them.
