this interview has a hint or two about the new movie and lots about the comic that comes out next week. The comic's setting is the same world as the dead films and there are some sample pages to click on.

not really related but i found a cool zombie novelty magazine coming soon. this news is from everones favorite zombie site All Things Zombie

There's finally a magazine that caters to the zombie armageddon. I don't know much about it yet, as I just found out about it myself. Dead Letters is a semiannual publication with issues released in January and July of each year.

The editors of Dead Letters: The Magazine of the Zombie Apocalypse are now taking submissions for the January 2005 debut issue of the 'zine. In order to make Dead Letters' January 2005 debut, the editors would like to announce a special reading period for submissions. Would-be contributors to Dead Letters' premiere issue should make their submissions between October 1st and 31st for consideration.

Here's a little more on their guidelines:

Contributors to Dead Letters may submit any sort of creative work related to the walking dead subgenre, be that written or graphic. All submissions are made via email, and should have the word SUBMISSION in the subject line. Written submissions should be made in plaintext format, not as an attachment, but as part of the body of the contributor’s email. Contributors interested in submitting artwork should make that submission in Graphic Interchange Format (GIF). If the editors decide to accept a graphic submission, they may ask for another copy in a different format.

Written submissions should not exceed 8,000 words in length. Please include an estimated word count in any submission email. Please note than while Dead Letters is inspired by the creative efforts of such horror pioneers as George A. Romero, it is not a forum for fan-fiction. Submissions containing copyrighted characters from film, television or elsewhere will be refused out of hand.

Start thinking and start writing!

I'm still pumped about hearing about John Leguizamo and Dennis Hopper starring in a new living dead movie, this should be a real cult classic. Thankyou Mr Romero for taking a huge shit all over a series that once felt sacred .
