So who's picking up The Creature From the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man and The Mummy on Tuesday. I'm not sure about TIM or Mummy but I'm definitely getting CFTBL. If they came out with the gift set with busts again I'd go for all of them.

Picked up Creature from the Black Lagoon and decided to get The Mummy as well. I'll probably go back for the Invisible Man since I'm such a damn completist. I'm on the road all week so I can't watch them til the weekend. I'm bummed about that. But CFTBL will be a good one for my kids to watch.

I'd love to get these, but being a poor student I have ZERO funds right now. So Christmas, I guess.

I bought all three today. The only movie I'd seen off of any of the discs was Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Earlier today I watched "The Invisible Man" (which is an EXCELLENT FILM, monster movies aside) and "The Mummy," which I actually found to be a quietly sad film. It's essentially the story of a man obsessively in love, who seems like he would normally be quiet reasonable about the whole matter had he not spent 4,000 years cursed to a living death. You have to feel kind of bad for Imhotep, despite all the bad things he tries to do.

Looking forward to watching the "lesser" films of each series. "Invisible Agent" sounds like it may actually be pretty cool.

Now I just need to go back and retroactively pick up Collection 1.

Hopefully they'll release some of the other, non-legacy Universal Monster movies on DVD like The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Mole People and a number of others.

I already had all of The Mummy movies but I did get the rest and I will get The Mummy series in time just so that I'll have all of the sets.

I picked up all 3 yesterday. Best Buy has The Invisible Man on sale for $15.99, the other sets were $19.99.

I had gotten the gift set with the busts for the first wave - I was hoping for a similar set for this second wave.

Mine had The Mummy on sale for $15.99, and the others were 20!

Maybe each store is just discounting the disc that they got the most copies of. I dunno.

My mistake, I goofed. I just checked my receipt, and it was The Mummy that was only $15.99. And that price was advertised in the sales paper too.

I got the Mummy set today. I now have all of them. Maybe we should all write Universal and ask that the next set include big bugs from the 50's.

So tell me how does the Creature look? I hate being on the road when there's a good release. You should be able to rent a friggin DVD player in hotels these days dammit. So there they sit in the back seat of my truck. ARGH, the frustration!

Now that I'm back in the comfort of my home theatre system I can say The Creature has never looked better. What a great movie. Can't say how many times I watched it growing up. My 6 year old dug it. That was fun.
