Arsenic and Old Lace...best halloween movie ever?

Ok, so strictly speaking it isn't horror. But really, what better movie to feel the halloween spirit than Arsenic and Old Lace?

Anyone who hasn't seen it, watch it, you're missing out

For those who have, what do you think of this great film about two sweet, adorable and murderous old ladies, and their poor nephew trying to cover for them?

Yes.

Thanks for reminding me, this movie has been sitting on my shelf for years. I'm going to watch it this Halloween.

I think it's a great funny little movie, you get Cary Grant, Frankenstein, two murderously sweet old ladies, the chihauha man from Casablanca, and a pissed off fiancee all in one deal. Oh the hijinks that insue!

It drags a bit around the middle, but it's definitely one of my favorite Halloween movies.

Interesting tidbit...

The guy who plays Jonathan (whom everyone says looks like Boris Karloff) isn't actually played by Boris Karloff...he's Raymond Massey.

Iirc, Karloff was in the stage play, but couldn't film the movie, so they got Raymond to play him instead.

That Raymond guy looked amazing. But I'd never heard people took him for Karloff.

I wish I could get this jewel on dvd.

That's correct, which is a real shame. Imagine the rep this movie would have with Karloff, Lorre and Grant in the cast! Either way, I love this movie.
