I'm not a fan of Michael Myers, but I love this Halloween movie just for the simple fact that the story is very unique and Michael Myers isn't in it.

Sure it has plot issues, but what Horror movie doesn't? Most of them usually do, and a very select few don't. But this movie is in my top 10 Horror movies IMO.

I watched the DVD on Saturday, the 23rd of October. The same date as the movie starts out on. Cool huh? I might watch it again on Halloween night as well.

God, it has been an eternity since I saw Halloween III. I like it as well - don't understand the hate.

A few observations:

1) What the hell do shamrocks have to do with Halloween. See, it was a conspiracy tool of leprachauns. You know . . .the wee people.

2) All I seem to remember about this movie is that a kid puts on one of the masks and sits in front of the TV. He dies, right? And then bugs start coming out the thing? How the hell did the masks work?

Agent, you need a refresher stat.

This movie is a classic. It features Tom Friggin' Atkins. And he does a robot. What more can you want?

1. My guess is that the Shamrock symbolized that the company that made the masks were Irish. Since the town that had the factory was "predominately Irish". I could be wrong though.

2. There was some sort of "Power" in the rock from Stonehenge. They combined a small piece of the rock with a computer chip and it somehow killed whoever was hit with the beam of light and made bugs/snakes come out of their heads. The masks themselves were okay, it was the trademark that killed you, since it had the computer chip inside of it.

EDIT: Forgot to put this.

Thanks Decisions Movie guy.

The Shamrock, a 3-Leaf Clover, the plant was sacred to the Irish Druids because the three leaves formed a triad.

Many agree that the ancient Druids honored it as a sacred plant. The Druids believed the shamrock had the power to avert evil spirits. Some people still believe the shamrock has mystical, even prophetic, powers. It is said that the leaves of shamrocks turn upright whenever a storm is coming.

After sitting through H4 and H5 on AMC. H3 is a friggin masterpiece. Lots of love for that movie.
Agreed. I think it's the only good HALLOWEEN flick after the first.

Yeah, it seems a common belief that H3 is the worst of the bunch. Look at the IMDB ratings, H3 gets the lowest score, a 3.6 out of 10.

I can't imagine people thinking H4 and H5 are better (I too watched a good deal of these films again on AMC this past week). I just think without having Michael in it, no one gives this film a second chance. Is it as good as the original? No. But is it a complete abomination like H4 and H5? Hell no.

Best scene in a movie ever was when the kids head turned into bugs then his family died.

Good scene, but my favorite is the ending.

You think that the children will be saved....But no. The last channel keeps playing the commercial. It gives me chills everytime I see it. I love the ending! I also love the topic title for this thread too.

I love how the second half of this film is like the most demented Bond film ever.

Speaking of things that should be turned off and stopped, I hate these new ads that you have to skip every time you click on a link on the message board.

I also agree. I thought that my computer was stuck with an 'Ad pop up' virus, until I read your post. I guess this site is trying to get more money for advertising. Sad.

WELL, I think H4 is better than Halloween 3. Don't get me wrong I actually have soft spot for H3 and wish they actually were able to do a different story that revovles arond Halloween in each film. However, I really dig H4. H5 however is complete and utter SHIT. And that's being kind.

H3 is a much better film than 4 and 5. 4 and 5 suffer from taking it too seriously and Donald Pleasance overacting. They should have gone the way of Friday the 13th and the Halloween franchise may have faired better.
I don't know Floydian, I will take the Halloween series over the Friday series any day of the week. If only because the original Halloween is so great to this day, and I just love Donald Pleasence's Loomis.
Don't get me wrong I love the original and Donald Pleasance as well. I guess I just got tired of Loomis being the only guy to ever worry about Micheal after all the people that he kept killing. Maybe overacting is too strong a word. He was playing his part well where others seem to sleepwalk. Noones even mentioned the abomination of H20 yet.

In the Friday the 13th films they are what they are and don't try for any subplots or outstanding characters besides Jason. I can watch all of the Friday the 13th films and be satisfied on some level and indeed I have been after buying the box set but the Halloween franchise just feels been there done that and hollow after the first. Maybe the second is a bit more pallatable than the rest and I exclude HIII as it is its own story. But that's just me.

While none of the FRIDAY flicks are as good as the first HALLOWEEN, the best sequels eclipse even the best H sequel. I mean, I love H3 but it's not a great movie, and putting that up against F13 PART III, THE FINAL CHAPTER, or PART VI, it'll get killed every time. Even dirt like FREDDY VS JASON is better than HALLOWEEN H20.

H20 wasn't THAT bad. Or maybe it's just me.
