I got fired about 2 months ago. It's a long, sad, overwritten story I have posted at the website in my sig. But I lucked out, the rock station in my city had lost it's producer, and had decided to open up the replacement hiring to it's listeners. Now, I've had a love for dj'ing and music for a long time, and before life and funds got in the way, I'd thought it'd be a career for me. And now the opportunity had come up, and it had come up at a station I liked, on a show I listened to (and called into frequently, even) It came down to 4 finalists, and I was one of them. (www.kufo.com has the other three finalists demos and bios up as well, if you wanna check those out) Now it's voting time. The winner gets a job helping write and produce the show. I had a GREAT trial week back in October, the hosts liked me, I worked my ASS off, and if it's not too much trouble to you guys, could you please click the above link, and click the box next to my name.

It's a foot in the door into the entertainment industry, and that's all I've really wanted for awhile. Even if I know I'm basically gimmicking my way in, as long as I GET in, that's all I need. And I need your help to do that.

Me finally getting off unemployment is on the line, and I'm STILL more nervous about the presidential election. By a pretty big margin. That thing scares the crap out of me.

Interesting Note: The hosts told us 4 that it was one vote per email address. The site says one vote per person. Kinda the same thing. The hosts also told us voting was to go thru the weekend, and we'd all find out Monday. The site says voting ends on Friday and we find out that day. I'm guessing it's just a website slip-up, but until I check with the hosts tomorrow, no ballot box stuffing, and make sure that vote gets in by Friday

It's not like they can see it through the radio, though And what am I going to do that's equivalent? No one wants to see MY cottage cheese farm hanging off the small of my back

I never really dug that movie. Wiped it from my mind. I was all "Was Henry Rollins in "Ricochet?" "Surviving the Game?"

What REALLY sucks about that is that I told em about the contest idea (one of five ideas I had) back on wednesday, and we decided we'd go with the movie game after we spent the entire downtime between shows on Wed and Thurs PLAYING the game. And I was actually kicking ass.

and the FIRST ROUND of questions when I go on air--and they hit me with Johnny Mnemonic. The overreaction was pretty funny, though.

We did end up playing the game just for fun, on the air with a lot of callers, for the next two hours. So it was pretty successful. It really is an addictive game.

It's a free nintendo DS now. The Ipod thing is done. Old hat.

Yeah, this is basically a "Win John's Job" ripoff, but with a lesser reward. They're giving away a car if you win--but the car is a 91 Cadillac that needs a new head gasket and is only running on 5 of 8 cylinders. I get a job, though, and that's ALL I'm worried about.. but you are right--it's a fun place to pretend to work. For the last hour and a half of the show, pretty much all anyone really does is read magazines and goof off on the internet. By the time 5:30 rolls around, most everything is already cued up and punched in, it's just a matter of hitting play.

From what I understand, it was legit. People got their iPods.
