BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON discussion

Saw this at an early screening last night. If you enjoyed the first film, you should enjoy this one as well. Zellweger returns as the goofy Bridget, who is now dating her beloved Mark Darcy and continuing to embarass herself on her TV show. The opening bit featured a nice little nod to 007's The Spy Who Loved Me, though I am not sure how many other patrons in the theater caught it.

Jacinda Barrett popped up as a co-worker of Mark Darcy who Bridget thinks is after him and Jessica Stevenson (Daisy from Spaced) popped up as a friend of Bridget in a couple of scenes.

They filmed this follow-up in some beautiful countries, including Austria (substituting for Germany) and Thailand.

The only complaint was that it seemed to me that the sound was lower than it should've been, so I missed some lines.

Overall, the movie was better than I expected it to be, especially considering its a sequel. There were several really enjoyable and funny scenes throughout. Zellweger, Firth and Grant were all fantastic in their role reprisals.

It was amusing, but way too much a remake of the original.

Isn't the return of Hugh Grant and her haivng to choose between them both a little lame for a sequel, she has to make the choice again, it'd be like a superhero movie reusing the same supervillain, wouldn't you get tired of it after a while..........

Just saying is all, i'll probably end up seeing this.
