Very funny episode!

*kicks picture frame*
"Dammit!! My legs are so powerful."

The return of GOB's horrid chicken impersonation was great.

I was reminded of Buster's reaction when he did it last season:

"Chickens don't make that noise! CHICKENS DON'T CLAP!"

I can't believe I missed that my first viewing. When I caught it the second time....holy shit did I laugh.

Oh and this one too:

"Circumvent. It means to go around."

"The old reach-around."
oh my god, i didn't get the ann as a hog reference until I saw it printed out here HAHAHAA....

I was dying when Buster pops in on his mom and his "uncle" at the end...

"Buster! I thought you were in Mexico!"

"So did I !!!!"
Just rewatched this episode and there were so many small things that I missed the first time. The aforementioned hog reference. Michael's face when he thinks Lindsay is talking about Ann is perfectly aghast. The Mexican shooting the gun in the air at George senior's funeral and the bullet hitting the guy standing a feet inches away. Lucille saying, "I'm not having an affair with your...uncle".

This show is awesome!

Is there going to be a new one on Sunday? I was pretty disappointed we didn't get a new one this week. I can't wait for a new one. Easily the funniest show on TV.
Wow... that peanuts reference was one of the funniest damn things eeeever
post #58 of 416
This fucking show...wow.
The Sadaam finding was great. Closely behind the wearing of stripper clothes.
This was definitely worth the wait.
One of the best episodes on the show's run. So many great moments; my personal favorite being when Gob fell out of the coffin, then the coffin fell on him, and then got buried.
Oh, how I love this show.

The whole thing about "pop pop" in the attic had me cracking up.

If only we could have a Scrubs/Arrested Development crossover.

So many great things:

-- You gotta love a show that goes for the laugh two seconds in. I was dying over Gob's "poof" comment and Michael assuming he's talking about the new hire. By the time Gob's flashback came on, I had tears coming from my eyes.

-- Michael called Ann "Egg" again. And I loved the bit where Michael said he left a message and Ann says, "No you talked to me."

-- All the flashbacks of little Buster were hilarious. "Buster threw what he thought was the maid's favorite toy at what he thought was her car." And of course, his Army stripper uniform, complete with a spandex leotard underneath. Him trying to get in on Gob's act by dancing behind the coffin was the icing on the cake.

-- Blue dot returns!

-- Tobias doing his John Wayne impression and then freaking out about his missing eggs.

-- And as mentioned, the Saddam and Charlie Brown references were pure comedy gold.

Man, I love this show.

Great episode. I loved the stripper clothes, the blue dot, Buster's childhood and of course the Peanuts tribute. Say did anyone catch the dog lying on top of the red dog house as George Michael walked by? It was really quick but I swear it was there.
No, but I taped the episode so I'll be looking for it on repeat.
i noticed it in the commercials, its SO totally there. and the dog is suitably beagle-esque.

great use of the two repeated themes too: "I don't know what I'm saying." and the Peanuts music....

Yup, it was there. Nice addition.
I also love the "very special" music that plays whenever Oscar hints that he's Buster's dad.
Haha, just notcied Stiller as the "Poof" magician.
I'd kill to see G.O.B.'s magic show live. Fucking Europe, people! awesome.
Just watched it again and noticed, as Tobias slinks away after finding that someone took his "fucking hard boiled eggs," behind a cabinet with dishes, etc. there is a giant hole in the wall. The continuity is insane.
Yeah, I thought the dog on the roof was one of the best jokes in the episode.
I thought the doghouse in combination of the Charlie Brown Music was good enough. I didn't even realize there actually was a beagle on top. AWESOME.
I loved that the political cartoon with George Sr. also featured the Corn Baller.
this was the first episode that didn't end with Tobias in the hospital.

I suppose they couldn't keep that gag up forever, but it was still great.

(episode 1, hit by car when he was painted blue at dusk: hospital, episode 2, diamond dust covering entire body: hospital, episode 3, tackled by ICE: hospital)
The icing on the cake?

Last night's episode was titled, "Good Grief".
Yeah, but have you seen the new Poof?
Last night's episode is in my top 3 favorite, if not on the top. Everything came together so well....

"I will be buried in my fathers place!"
Wow this show is a tv geek's dream.

All these little in jokes here and there are going to make this a legendary show 10 years from now.

I actually thought this show lacked a lot of the guffaws from the first 3 of the season, BUT thats not to say it was bad. It was still very funny, and the charlie brown head drooping throughout the Bluth Men was hilarious.

I loved that GOB maintained his theme music of "the final countdown" for his magic tricks. But I believe his relationship with the new hire at the company that could have led to misunderstandings was HILARIOUS.

Tobias' John Wayne impression was great.

Rewatched the episode and found a couple more things that had me laughing out loud:

Buster: You mean you can wear stripper clothes when you aren't stripping?

Gob: *rips off pants* You tell me!

--------------------------

George Michael: There's Ann! There's the light of my life.

Pop Pop: Her? *awkward silence*

George Michael: *whispers* She's funny.

Pop Pop: I hope so.
This show is amazing....

Michael: Let's go down to Mexico.

George Michael: Alright, let me grab Anne real quick.

Michael: Wait, Anne's here?

George Michael: Yeah, I invited her. You said you wanted to spend some time with her, you said I was being an "Anne Hog".

Michael: Anne-Hog's coming? I mean I thought it was ----

George Michael: Just Anne.

Michael: ---- just gonna be the two of us. Well, alright, just load her up in the car.

One of my favorite throwaway gags has to be the first episode with Henry Winkler. He's in the bathroom, and before he leaves, he checks himself in the mirror Fonzi style just like in the opening credits of Happy Days. It's good to see the guy getting some quality work.
When Buster appeared wearing GOB's 'army uniform' I just about lost it.

Anyone else notice the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree being carried past George Michael just before the Snoopy dog house?

Great episode.
This is the kind of show that TiVo was made for. I saw it again last night, and found a couple more gags. When Michael was giving the eulogy, he asks Ice to please stop the blender. Right when Michael finished, guess who Ice was serving the smoothie to?

Yep. Anne. Yet another one of Michael's "interruptions".

Another line I missed the first time around was, "It's as Anne as the nose on Plain's face."

If you guys haven't seen this Arrested Development fansite yet, you must check it out. Lots of images, sounds, etc.

http://www.the-op.com

My computer says "Annyong" when I get an email now.
Excellent site! My new email notification is 'coka, coka, coka'.
"Hey, Hermano" is also a nice choice.
Awesome episode. "Climb that wall homo!!!"

"Those are balls." "Copy on the balls." Shemale shirt. All great moments.
I loved the captions under the 19-year-old student's senior pics, ending with the "Study hard guys. Trust me." line...

Can I ask what kind of equipment you're using to get screencaps of that calibur?

Sorry, I did not capture them. I got these from Something Awful.

this episode contains coarse language. GREAT
post #94 of 416

I worship at the altar of Arrested Development

Absolutely brilliant, and it seems to be getting better and better.

"Are you wearing my dead wife's maternity clothes?"

I see. Oh well. At any rate, I love the recurring jokes:

Blue handprint on the wall and blue paint on Tobias' ear.

"The Final Countdown" used as GOB's Cell Phone Ringer.

The patched walls in the office.

The gay private that sued the Army also sued Fonzie for the same reason.

George using the wig to pretend to be Oscar again.

"My Cutoffs!"

I've said it before, but you can step into this show and it'll still be hilarious, but it rewards the faithful viewers.
good god that was a very involved episode. I can't even begin to remember all the great jokes in it.

Everything was just awesome awesome awesome.
The show didn't really start paying off until the last 10 minutes. Glad I waited through it, and thank god for TiVo!
I felt the same. I caught a lot of the little jokes, but the episode just didn't do it for me this week. Granted, I was watching the show with my roommate who doesn't find it to be funny. Puts a weird feeling in the air.

And Lindsay is really starting to annoy me. I thought she's been terrible in the last few episodes. The voice bit was beyond awful. "Shemale" was the only good part about her and Maeby's storyline.
Coming off of last week's, this week couldn't help but be a little bit of a letdown. Still, several gut busters in the episode.

But, yeah, Lindsay's voice was just bad.
lindsey's voice sounded like Rita Repulsa from the initial mighty morphin power ranger days. it sounded like crap, but it was delightfully demonic at the same time. I cringed, but was glad it made me do so.
